Canterbury Bulldogs have enjoyed playing at home in 2024 but their historic issues against New Zealand Warriors will add to any nerves heading into Saturday's NRL meeting at Accor Stadium.

The Bulldogs are back in the postseason picture following a disastrous 2023 in which they finished 15th after winning just seven of their 24 games. Read on for my Canterbury Bulldogs vs New Zealand Warriors prediction and match odds.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs New Zealand Warriors Betting Tips

Rugby League Odds

The Bulldogs' success has been built on having the second-best defence in the competition and they start the round sixth on the ladder.

The Warriors are down in 14th but only three points off the top eight and found their groove to beat Brisbane Broncos 32-16 last weekend. However, they lost 66-6 at Gold Coast Titans in their previous road game.

Even so, the improvements they showed against the Broncos suggest they could frustrate the Bulldogs' less-than-fluent attack, although that may not be enough.

Team News

Bulldogs' full-back Connor Tracey has come through HIA protocols, meaning Jacob Kiraz will shift to the wing, while utility player Kurt Mann is back from suspension and has been included among the replacements.

Warriors' captain Tohu Harris has been ruled out for an unspecified period with a wrist injury, so Dylan Walker will start at loose forward for the sixth time in the last seven games.

Prop Bunty Afoa comes onto the bench, while back-rower Jacob Laban and centre Ali Leiataua have been omitted from the matchday squad.

Second rower Kurt Capewell will make his 150th NRL appearance.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs New Zealand Warriors Odds

The Bulldogs are 8/15 win on Saturday - giving them a theoretical chance of 65.2% - with the Warriors 8/5 and the draw 20/1.

The points line is set at 45.5, and you can back the over at 5/6, while the under is available at 10/11.

New Zealand Warriors +6 @ 20/21

The Warriors have won the last six meetings but face a different side this year, with Canterbury's much-improved defence helping them already claim one more win than in 2023, with eight rounds of the regular season still to play.

Cameron Ciraldo's men have won six on the spin at Accor Stadium and sealed a brilliant Golden Point victory over the second-placed Panthers in their last game.

They have a miserable record against Saturday's opponents, but have a potential cheat code in captain Stephen Crichton, who won seven from seven against the Warriors during his time at Penrith and will hope to continue that record in Sydney.

However, while Canterbury have improved in defence, they still have work to do in attack. They have scored a combined total of just seven points across the second halves of their last two games and the visitors could push them close.
