Two teams in the hunt for the NRL play-offs will collide at the Belmore Sports Ground as the Canterbury Bulldogs welcome the Canberra Raiders to Sydney (07:05 BST, Sky Sports Action).

The Bulldogs occupy seventh place in the NRL standings thanks to six wins from eight matches, and they are being considered as genuine title contenders.

Canberra are only two points behind the Bulldogs, and after successive wins of their own, they will feel they can pull off a shock result. Below you can find my Canterbury Bulldogs vs Canberra Raiders prediction.

Team News

Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo will welcome two of his best players back from injury, as captain Stephen Crichton and Josh Addo-Carr return to the fold.

Jacob Kiraz returns to the wing, while Blake Wilson and Jeral Skelton are two to make way.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has stuck with the same 17 that beat the South Sydney Rabbitohs 32-12 last weekend. Prop Josh Papali'i is set to play his 300th NRL game.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Canberra Raiders Odds

After some improved results, the Bulldogs are 4/11 favourites to win Sunday's contest, while the draw is priced at 22/1, and the Raiders are 23/10 to collect the two points on the road.

The Bulldogs have been boosted to 11/10 to score the first try and lead at half-time, while they are -10 to cover the handicap 3-way line or 8/15 to win the first half.

Canterbury Bulldogs - 8 @ 20/21

The Bulldogs' success has been built on strong defence, and they have conceded the second-fewest points in the NRL so far this season.

Coach Ciraldo was the defensive coach for the Penrith Panthers' title successes in 2021 and 2022, and he has transferred those skills to the Bulldogs.

Canterbury racked up the points in their 41-16 success over Brisbane Broncos last week, and if they can maintain those standards they should have enough class to win by at least nine points.

Rugby League Odds

Under 48.5 points @ 5/6

The Bulldogs' defensive skills have already been discussed, but the Raiders should be able to make the scoreline respectable.

Canberra have won two on the spin in the NRL, proving too much for the Rabbitohs and New Zealand Warriors.

In their last four games, Stuart's side have shown some real consistency defensively. They have not conceded more than 18 points in any of those games, even when two of those matches ended in defeat.

Canberra should fall short on their trip to Sydney, but expect them to keep things tight, helping the unders line land in the process.
