Cape Verde beckons for superhero Lotto star Ian
Plumber Ian Duckworth is off on holiday to Cape Verde after winning £50,000 from just a £1 stake at Betfred
The father of four from Rochdale picked his numbers on the 49s lotto game around family birthdays - and all five were drawn.
He went for number 1 as it's the day of the month his son was born; 7 which is the date of his daughter's birth; 13 his granddaughter's birth date - and 31 was the day in the month his wife Debbie was born.
Jubilant Ian, aged 58, said : "There is only the last number 40 which isn't a family birth date. I don't know where that came from.
"What am I going to do with £50,000? Well, there are all sorts of things that need doing at our house such as new windows and doors; and then we are off to Cape Verde which is somewhere I've always fancied as it's a bit off the grid.
"I am stunned to be honest at what I've won from just a quid. I celebrated with a few pints and a glass or two of Jack Daniels!"
Betfred boss Fred Done said: "This fella, who like me is a Manchester United supporter, has been a customer of ours for over 20 years. As a plumber he's certainly plugged a gap in his finances! Good luck to him, and enjoy a fantastic holiday."
