York Tips: Follow your Instinct on Friday

There are seven UK and Irish race meetings on offer on Friday and there is a seven-race card taking place at York which takes my fancy.
Below you will find my York Tips for Friday, July 11.
York Tips - Friday, July 11
- 14:45 York - First Instinct @ 5/1
- 15:55 York - Dawn of Liberation @ 9/2
- 16:32 York - Mahra's Love @ 10/3

14:45 York - First Instinct @ 5/1
There are 12 runners declared for this Class 1 stakes race and so there are quite a few worthy candidates for your buck. The one who jumps out to me is FIRST INSTINCT. This three-year-old filly has placed in six of her seven starts since making her debut last August and this is going to be her first visit to York.
She has experienced victories over 6f, which should serve her well on Friday. Trainer William Haggas will be pleased with how her first year has gone but there is work to be done to turn her into a prolific champion.
There may have been disappointment in the 5f trip at Ayr on her last outing in June, but she will no doubt relish the step back up in trip. This selection was my first instinct, quite literally, as she appeals more than most and I do believe we could be about to witness another strong ride from her.

15:55 York - Dawn of Liberation @ 9/2
This Class 4 handicap looks set to be an interesting battle and nine runners are set to contest this one. The 1m 2f trip may play into the hands of DAWN OF LIBERATION, who has enjoyed success over this distance in recent months.
The six-year-old gelding has won three of his last four starts, with the latest coming here last month in a handicap that was sealed by three lengths. He returns Y023 18lbs higher than the start of the impressive form, but he is still expected to be a strong contender.
Trainer Ruth Carr should be pleased with how his season is going and while there were some concerns at Newbury, the victory at this racecourse last time out makes it seem like it was an anomaly.

16:32 York - Mahra's Love @ 10/3
MAHRA'S LOVE rounds off my selections for the day in this Class 4 handicap over 1m. It's another stacked field, with 11 runners declared. I must admit it took me a while to land on this selection because there are some other worthy contenders in the form of Precious Spartan and Perfidia, but Mahra's Love is the one for me.
The three-year-old has enjoyed a strong start in her first five starts with three places and a victory on her last appearance at Kempton in June, which was another stacked field.
Trainer Haggas has a rising star on his hands and he'll likely expect further progress on her first appearance at York, in what is also going to be her first ride over 1m. There have been constant improvements with each run, so I think we can prepare for another valiant effort from Mahra's Love on Friday.
