Day 2 at the York Ebor Festival presents another interesting card which features the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks. I've taken a look at the seven raced heading our way on Thursday and picked out what I believe to be some of the best bets of the day.

Read on for my York Ebor Day 2 Tips.

York Ebor Day 2 Tips - Thursday, August 21

14:25 York - Anthelia @ 11/2

There are 21 runners declared for this Class 2 GBB race over 6f and there are quite a few who arrive with strong claims. I like the look of ANTHELIA for Rod Millman's yard who has won four of her first five starts.

Her one defeat did come over this distance in June while all her successes have come over 5f. Millman will be hoping to have her in better shape for her second attempt over this trip and her overall record puts her firmly in contention in a race of this nature.

The two-year-old filly still has much more to offer and after one experience over 6f, it may serve her better this time around. The daughter of Supremacy offers good value at 11/2 so even if you are not entirely confident, it looks attractive for an each-way punt.

15:00 York - Bullet Point @ 3/1

This Class 2 handicap over 2m has 18 runners declared and again there are several notable contenders who offer value for your buck. BULLET POINT is the one for me as the William Haggas-trained four-year-old gelding has shown steady progress in handicaps over this distance.

He got off to a winning start on his reappearance at Newmarket in April, defeating Tribal Chief by three-and-a-quarter lengths.

The son of Advertise followed this up with two impressive second-place finishes at Ascot, the first being part of the Royal Ascot Festival amongst a field of 30.

He is set to go up 3lb ahead of this outing but it shouldn't make much of a difference given the form he is in. He is once again going to be in the capable hands of Tom Marquand, who has steered him for his last three runs.

16:45 York - Stellar Sunrise @ 15/2

I'm looking forward to this Class 2 nursery handicap over 7f as it does appear wide open. There is value to be found in quite a number of the 19 declared runners but it is STELLAR SUNRISE for Andrew Balding's yard, who has my favour.

The two-year-old colt got off the mark at the third attempt, winning at Goodwood on his latest appearance on July 29. All three of his runs to date have come over 6f, though, so he is untested at this distance, which may be a cause for concern heading into Thursday.

He did place at this track (third) back in June, so that previous experience could benefit him despite the step up in trip. Another issue is that the son of Space Blues is starting in the widest stall. However, he runs for a stable who have a good record in this race, having prevailed in 2021 and 2023. For that reason, I think Stellar Sunrise could surprise a few.
