If Precise and Ted Noffey have won earlier, short priced multiple backers will be sitting on a nice payout with Gstaad (14) here. The Coventry winner at Royal Ascot has come agonisingly close in a trio of Group 1 since.
From a form perspective, he’s clearly the runner to beat. Aidan O’Brien’s colt has never gone further than seven furlongs or round a bend in race conditions. In addition, he has a tough draw. That has not stopped many of his stablemates in the past in these juvenile races.
The best of The American based runners could be Bottas (12) and Argos (9). Both runners are lightly raced. Bottas (12) was dead game when edging out Heeere's Johnny (1) in a Grade 2 at Aqueduct. Argos (9) won The Summer (G1) at Woodbine. That can be an informative prep for this race.
Hey Nay Nay (13) is unbeaten and scored in a stake over course and distance in September. Outfielder (3) wasn’t too far behind Gstaad (14) at Deauville. He could outrun his odds if he makes the lead on his own.
Street Beast (2) may slip under the radar as his stakes win came at Kentucky Downs. He did it really well and is likely to get a ground-saving trip just off the speed. He’s an alternative for those not wanting to take a short price on the favourite.
