21:15 Horseshoe Indianapolis (Race 5) – Seeyouinabit (1) @ SP

Tap Bonnet (2) has looked much improved changing circuits from Tampa and getting a trainer change. She ran third in a maiden on her local debut last month. Nine days later she bettered that, graduating by almost five lengths. Based on the speed figure she ran, she is well up to beating winners at first asking.

Sorry Not Sorry (5) and Shipshewana (8) filled the places at today’s level on the turf here last month. The first named has yet to run as well admittedly in limited starts over a mile on dirt. Shipshewana (8) has no problems switching surface based on a run at this meet and last year in a state bred stake. She has to be reckoned with.

Seeyouinabit (1) may be worth chancing in this spot. She was highly tried as a juvenile after breaking her maiden on debut. The rail drawn runner was a well beaten third on her three year old debut but did start badly. If she breaks better, she may be able to make the lead. This track is playing very kind to speed types over route distances. She has to do everything right at the beak to lead the likes of What About Now (3). That four year old is an unknown over this far. She may improve for the slower early fractions at a mile.

21:15 Horseshoe Indianapolis - Winner Seeyouinabit

Odds correct at time of publishing.

21:20 Thistledown (Race 8) – Swelter (6) @ SP

Like a few of these, Capture Mi (1) is in sharp form. He was a clear-cut winner over a field of two time career winners here last month. The rail drawn runner has speed but did show last time, he can stalk the pace and run big. If his rider can work a trip, he can double up. That speed will come from a few of these including a trio of veterans. Montauk Cove (2), Mon Camo (3) and Shadow Tracer (4) have won over fifty races between them. Shadow Tracer (4) slammed a weak field by seven lengths last month. He has returned to his 2024 best and looks very dangerous. On paper, he is the best of the pace brigade. Mon Camo (3) may improve second time back after a long lay off.

Seeing Red (7) has a look of the ‘trip’ horse. He has ran two fine races since a trainer change. In the latest, he outfinished a lesser field from a couple of lengths off the pace. With so much speed signed out, he should get a good set up. The jockey of David's Gem (8) may have tactical options drawn wide. He makes his return getting significant class relief. This is a winnable spot for him bearing in mind his back form.

Swelter (6) is better known as a miler. This his first start since October may just to pipe opener. He has been working well. If he is fit, he may find this field coming back to him in deep stretch. His trainer has a good record with lay off runners. Maybe take him at a big price with a few forecasts with the favourites.

21:20 Thistledown - Winner Swelter

Odds correct at time of publishing.

22:00 Churchill Downs (Race 1)– Wedding Mood (2) @ SP

The class dropping Tarneema (5) is without question the horse to beat. She ran a personal best when third in a $250,000 stake here last month. The four year old is proven over today’s distance. She has tactical speed so should be well positioned by jockey Ben Curtis no matter how fast they go early on. The one worry at her likely price is she has come up just short a few times in efforts to win career race number two. A few of those efforts were in similar races to this one. Form players, she is the gal for you.

All of the rivals of Tarneema (5) are stepping up in distance from shorter races. Quietly (6) showed improved form second time back as a four year old. She stayed on to run second at this level here last month. The pair she split are decent yardsticks. Like a few here, her best races could be ahead of her. That is definitely the case with Stellify (1). She won a maiden in a fast time over nine furlongs seven weeks ago. The rail drawn runner wasn’t stopping as she hit the line. More ground shouldn’t be a problem to her.

The other two last time out maiden winners are Indy's Halo (3) and Wedding Mood (2). The first named is progressing with racing. Wedding Mood (2) looks a double figure price based on the fillies she beat here last month. She did win despite the one mile distance looking to short. Her dam won a Group 3 over a mile and a half for Aidan O’Brien. That suggests, she may improve for the added ground. She has worked well since her last run. Maybe she can upstage her better fancied rivals.

22:00 Churchill Downs - Winner Wedding Mood

Odds correct at time of publishing.
