Horse Racing Tips: Powerful can take the glory at Beverley

We have an excellent week of racing to look forward to, with some quality midweek action across Britain and Ireland, including on Tuesday. There’s Group 1 racing to enjoy at the weekend as well and we have five meetings on offer on Tuesday.
Listowel’s Harvest Festival continues in the afternoon, while Lingfield, Beverley and Warwick provide the entertainment in Britain and Southwell’s nine-race all-weather fixture takes us through the evening.
We’ve got three strong fancies across Tuesday’s cards which should be well worth following and they include an Aidan O’Brien-trained handicap debutant at Listowel who could be very well treated on an opening mark of 80.

13:45 Lingfield - Master Vintner @ 4/7
There are a couple of interesting angles to consider in this 1m4f novice, but Ralph Beckett’s MASTER VINTNER gets the nod. He made his debut in Ireland for Andy Oliver, where he finished third by a margin of five lengths.
That in itself isn’t particularly outstanding, but the fact that the victor was St Leger winner Scandinavia makes that form look rock-solid. There was a big gap between the front five and the rest that day and the fourth and fifth have also boosted the form by winning since.
Beckett then snapped up the son of Mastercraftsman and he produced a very professional performance to get off the mark on stable debut at Goodwood earlier this month. The heavy ground wasn’t a problem and he stayed on well.
Going up to 1m4f here, his success at Goodwood indicates that the step up in trip can facilitate further improvement and he should be winning this if that is the case.
Master Vintner retains potential and the best is surely yet to come.

15:38 Beverley - Powerful Glory @ 10/3
It’s going to be very hard work at Beverley on Tuesday, as the ground is heavy and the stiff 5f is going to take some getting.
Fortunately for POWERFUL GLORY, he has already proven himself on heavy ground and over further.
Richard Fahey’s three-year-old was unbeaten in two starts as a two-year-old last term and he looked very smart when bolting up on debut at Pontefract.
A step up in grade then beckoned and he followed up with a game success in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes.
Toughing it out well to score by a neck on heavy ground, that form makes him the one to side with here.
He was entitled to need the run on his first start of the year, which came in Group 2 company at Haydock and this race is significantly easier.

17:22 Listowel - Saratoga @ 15/8
Aidan O’Brien has a 32 per cent strike-rate at Listowel in the last five years, with 10 winners from his 31 runners.
He sends several runners there on Tuesday and handicap debutant SARATOGA is the most interesting of them all.
This three-times-raced maiden had an entry in the St Leger right up until final declarations and that should be quite telling.
The strapping son of Camelot has made the frame in all three starts to date and was beaten less than two lengths when third at Navan earlier this month.
Connections have decided to put him significantly up in trip on his first start in handicap company and that could make all the difference.
An opening mark of 80 could prove to be very generous and this looks like the perfect opportunity to get off the mark
