Horse Racing Tips: Rory’s Royale can lord it over Kempton rivals

We are set for a busy Wednesday with a total of five meetings taking place in Britain and Ireland, three afternoon jumps fixtures followed by a pair of AW cards under the lights.
First off is Leicester (12:15), then Hexham (12:55) and Hereford (13:05) before the Flat takes over at Dundalk (15:10) and Kempton (17:30). Among our Wednesday fancies is one for in-form trainer Simon Hodgson, who makes his handicap debut off a workable mark.

13:35 Hereford - Can You Hear Me @ 4/1
Philip Hobbs and Johnson White would have been disappointed by the effort of Sober Glory at Sandown at the weekend, but they have been having a good time of it otherwise and have strong each-way claims in the opener at Hereford with CAN YOU HEAR ME.
The four-year-old showed ability in a pair of bumpers last season and was in the process of running with credit when he came down at the fourth-last flight on his hurdling debut at Worcester in October.
He again showed jumping frailties at Lingfield last month, making notable mistakes at the fifth and the last, but he saw his race out really strongly and got up for an unlikely second behind the odds-on Minella Marathon.
Those errors likely cost him more than the three-and-a-quarter lengths he was beaten and he should be capable of significant improvement if eradicating the mistakes.

16:15 Dundalk - Limestone Red @ 11/4
The Tracey Collins-trained LIMESTONE RED remains on a lengthy losing run, but there have been some really encouraging signs of late and he should give a good account.
The selection has won only once in 24 starts, but he’s capable on this surface and scored over course and distance in November 2023 off a mark of 64.
A promising fourth here on his penultimate start, he backed that up when keeping on nicely for second under today’s pilot Nicola Burns at the beginning of last month.
He’s gone up a pound since then, but has run to Racing Post Ratings in excess of his official handicap rating of 60 the last twice and Burns takes off a very handy 5lb.

17:30 Kempton - Rory’s Royale @ 10/1
Simon Hodgson has had two winners and a second from his three runners during the past fortnight and that good run may well continue courtesy of handicap debutant RORY’S ROYALE.
The three-year-old was well beaten following a slow start on his debut at Leicester in October, but he’s shown definite improvement since being switched to the AW since then, running to a Racing Post Rating of 63 when fifth of 12 at odds of 200-1 over this course and distance and 58 when third of five when 14-1 at Chelmsford last time.
That gives him a bit to find off this opening official mark of 67, but he’s well worth taking a chance with against some mostly exposed rivals, particularly with his stable in such good form.
