Horse Racing Tips: Metal will be hard to beat

Five meetings are scheduled to take place in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, three afternoon jumps cards accompanied by a pair of AW Flat meetings, one of which is an evening floodlit fixture.
First off is Lingfield, followed by Tramore, Hereford, Southwell and finally Wolverhampton. Amongst our Tuesday fancies is one for in-form trainer Kevin Phillipart De Foy, who looked a horse worth following when narrowly beaten on her debut.

12:00 Lingfield - Al Rufaa @ 13/8
The Daniel and Claire Kubler-trained AL RUFAA hasn't won in two years, but he's been holding his form admirably well this season and makes plenty of appeal now that he tackles 1m2f for the first time.
The eight-year-old was prolific in his early career for John Gosden, winning four of his first five outings and reaching a high official mark of 105.
He's certainly not the same force these days, but he's still very capable and has gone close to winning on a number of occasions this season, including when beaten a head at Wolverhampton in October off today’s mark of 75.
He ran another solid race when second over that same course-and-distance last time and the way in which he was finishing off suggests this extra half-furlong will be very much in his favour.

14:25 Southwell - Precious Metal @ 4/6
The Henrietta Knight-trained PRECIOUS METAL made a good start over hurdles when second at Stratford last month and any improvement on that should make her hard to beat.
The selection did well in bumpers last season, finishing second on his debut at Wincanton prior to landing a 16-1 success in a Listed race at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, that race confined to four-year-olds.
He was a bit below that level in open company at Newbury subsequently, but he was strong in the market behind the unbeaten Sober Glory on that occasion, suggesting he's held in high regard.
He ran his best race to date, at least according to Racing Post Ratings, when second at Stratford on his hurdling debut and improvement is likely given he'd been off since February.

18:30 Wolverhampton - Angel Love @ 10/11
Kevin De Phillipart De Foy has had two winners and a second from his three runners this last fortnight and that good run of form looks set to continue courtesy of ANGEL LOVE.
The selection ran a big race on his debut at Southwell in September, the daughter of Harry Angel was prominent throughout and gave backers of the odds-on Inside Story a real fright as she lost out in a head-bobbing finish by the minimum margin.
That's strong form with the winner now rated 83 and there being a clear distance back to the third, so it was a bit disappointing to see her fail to build on that at Kempton next time when finishing only third at odds of 4-7.
However, she only ran 2lb below her debut form and the winner, Fiery Damsel, has since gone in again under a penalty.
