Horse Racing Tips: Coconut can collect at Wolverhampton

A typically busy Saturday is on the schedule with seven fixtures across Britain and Ireland, with five afternoon meetings accompanied by two AW cards under the lights.
The action gets underway at the Curragh at 13:07, closely followed by Ascot, Gowran Park, Newmarket and Redcar. Wolverhampton and Newcastle bring the curtain down on proceedings with eight and nine-race cards respectively. Among our Horse Racing Tips for Saturday is one for Irish trainer William Harvey, who should be well suited by a return to 6f.

13:30 Newmarket - Blessed Star @ 9/2
The Charlie Johnston-trained BLESSED STAR was unable to take advantage of what appeared a good opportunity back in a maiden at Chelmsford last month, but she’d previously been very consistent and warrants obvious respect now that she returns to handicap company on turf.
An eight-race maiden, she’s yet to finish out of the money, recording six seconds and two thirds and repeatedly running to Racing Post Ratings of between 77 and 85.
It’s debatable if she was quite as far off that level as the figures suggests last time, the winner likely showing notable improvement on his second run back after undergoing a breathing operation, and a reproduction of her earlier efforts would give her every chance off her current official mark of 78.

16:35 Curragh - Cupola each-way @ 16/1
CUPOLA hasn’t gone on as hoped from his early promise, but she’s on a dangerous mark if getting it together and should appreciate a return to 6f on the evidence of her two runs in Ireland over 5f.
Formerly trained by Clive Cox, she looked a surefire future winner when making late gains to finish third on her introduction on the AW at Lingfield in January and she ran another nice race over that course-and-distance on her third start.
She’s been rather in-and-out since, but she’s tumbled down the ratings as a result and is now down to 56, having been 12lb higher in the spring.
She’s been unable to get on terms on her two runs for William Harvey, but neither effort has been completely devoid of promise and she certainly warrants another chance with her stable’s runners currently in good order.

16:55 Wolverhampton - Coconut Cove @ 6/4
Beaten a short-head on her debut at Yarmouth at the beginning of August, Roger Varian’s COCONUT COVE caught the eye at Goodwood subsequently, the daughter of No Nay Never making good late progress having arguably lost her race before it had begun.
A half-sister to 7f AW 2YO winner Serenity Dream, she got rather worked up in the stalls and jumped awkwardly, losing a couple of lengths and refusing to settle under restraint. She steadily worked her way back into contention, but was short of room at a vital stage around two furlongs out and lost valuable momentum when maneuvering a gap.
She was never getting to the first two, but appeared to finish with plenty of running left and looks to have found a good opportunity now switched to the AW.
