Horse Racing Tips: The Big Westerner to strike for De Bromhead

The big races keep on coming and it's the Welsh Grand National that headlines on Saturday. Chepstow is joined by Kempton, Wetherby and Wolverhampton (AW) in Britain, with Irish action from Leopardstown and Limerick on another busy day.
Read on for my horse racing tips for Saturday's action.

13:27 Limerick - The Big Westerner @ 1/1
Henry de Bromhead was amongst the winners on Friday in Ireland and can be so again at Limerick with THE BIG WESTERNER in the Grade 2 novice chase for mares.
Jade De Grugy for Willie Mullins looks the main threat on paper but she might be vulnerable to this strong stayer.
The Big Westerner was a good second behind Jimmy Du Seuil at Fairyhouse (2m5½f, yielding to soft) last month on chasing bow under Mike O'Connor.
The third, Jacob's Ladder, won since at Fairyhouse, and Jimmy Du Seuil has the Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Chase on Sunday as his next target.
Staying is the name of the game for this mare - she finished second in the Albert Bartlett over 3m at Cheltenham in the spring – and her resolve may ultimately win the day now back facing her own sex.

14:10 Chepstow - Ambion View @ 6/1
A very open-looking contest on the card at Chepstow in this handicap hurdle over nearly three miles.
Recent winner Keable is respected for Philip Hobbs & Johnson White but AMBION VIEW could be ready to strike for Joe Tizzard.
An Exeter maiden winner last season, he has finished second at Newton Abbot (2m5½f, good to soft) and back at the Devon layout over 2m2½f in two runs this season.
He was a touch unfortunate to bump into one in both of those races and the form of the Exeter contest has been boosted. He looks like he will relish this increased trip.

14:30 Kempton - Ryan's Rocket @ 9/4
The Grade 2 Desert Orchid Handicap Chase is one of Kempton's features on the second afternoon of their Christmas meeting and RYAN'S ROCKET can take it for trainer Fergal O'Brien and rider Johnny Burke.
A winner over fences last season at Chepstow on debut over the larger obstacles, he ran some good races in defeat afterwards and was unfortunate to unseat Burke very early on at Market Rasen in March.
He returned from his summer recess to win at Newbury last month, taking out the final race on their Coral Gold Cup card.
He came to eyeball the big pair in the market as they jumped the last and went by with some aplomb. That is a race that typically works out well and Ryan's Rocket has more scope for improvement than some of these rivals.
