Monday Racing Tips: Fortunate Man can keep O’Neills ticking over

It's been an awesome week on the racing front, as the Cheltenham Festival provided plenty of interesting stories and results. We're back to normal on Sunday however, with a couple of National Hunt fixtures in Britain and turf Flat racing returns to Ireland.
The Curragh gets us underway with their first fixture of the year and the feature race there is the €100,000 Irish Lincolnshire, while the National Hunt action in Britain comes from Market Rasen and Chepstow.
We have three strong fancies to consider across the afternoon and they include an Olly Murphy-trained runner at Market Rasen who looks well set to run a huge race.

14:45 Plumpton – Alto Alto @ 5/2
Recent course hurdles winner Kool Kid is favourite to follow up but his yard is struggling for winners and he has a 5lb higher mark to defy now going chasing for the first time.
He's got his claims again but ALTO ALTO is always likely to put his best foot forward at Plumpton and rates a solid alternative for Chris & Freddie Gordon.
The nine-year-old gelding has five wins around this track, three of them over this trip jumping fences. He's now 3lb lower than his most recent winning mark and if he repeats the form of his penultimate effort at Plumpton last month, he could be hard to peg back under positive tactics.

16:00 Ffos Las – Fortunate Man @ 2/1
Few winning riders would have enjoyed their moment in the Cotswolds last week more than Jonjo O'Neill Jr as he partnered Wilful to County Hurdle glory for his father & brother, Jonjo & AJ.
It was part of a festival double for the Jackdaws Castle yard, with Johnnywho repelling the well-backed Jagwar in the Ultima on day one in the hands of Richie McLernon.
The O'Neill triumvirate were also on target at Uttoxeter on Midlands National Day on Saturday when Wellington Arch justified favouritism in a handicap hurdle, rounding off an excellent few days for the team.
They head for Ffos Las on Monday and the feature race is the 'Welsh Gold Cup' Handicap Chase over just shy of three miles.
A field of nine runners were declared and they include FORTUNATE MAN for this in-form operation in the silks of JP McManus, fresh himself from another stellar Cheltenham Festival that saw him extend his record as the owner with more winners than anyone else.
The seven-year-old is proving a consistent conveyance over fences, with two wins, two seconds and two thirds amongst his nine starts in this sphere.
He won at Aintree on Boxing Day under Jonjo Jr, scoring over 3m1f in a Class 3 event off a mark just 3lb lower than this perch.
He was third at Sandown in a better race at the end of January and comes here after running fifth in the stamina-sapping Eider Chase at Newcastle over a trip in excess of four miles on his latest outing.
He likely found that marathon beyond him and his stamina ebbed away late on at Sandown on testing ground the time before.
The flat, galloping track is a positive for his chances as is the drop back in trip and slight ease in grade. His mark of 127 is one he can navigate a win from and if his recent exertions haven't taxed him too much, a replication of the form shown at Aintree over Christmas could prove good enough in this contest.

18:00 Wolverhampton – Desiderata @ 3/1
Trainer Thomas Faulkner has his team in decent nick, with a strike-rate of 27 percent after three winners from 11 recently.
DESIDERATA could add to that tally on Wolverhampton. The six-year-old twice occupied the runner-up spot here last month over the extended one-mile-one-furlong trip.
On his latest visit he tackled a mile-and-a-half and travelled up strongly before just getting outstayed.
He is on a workable mark and dropping back in trip looks a positive, while the booking of Billy Loughnane is an eye-catcher.
