Wednesday Racing Tips: Screamer has hit highest note

There are five meetings scheduled in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with the All-Weather holding sway with three fixtures. Hereford’s jump card gets the action underway at 13:30, closely followed by Dundalk (13:38), Southwell (13:44) and Wetherby (13:51). The first race of Kempton’s evening meeting is due off 16:28.
Among our Wednesday fancies is one for trainer Paul Flynn, who will witness his charge put his unbeaten all-weather record on the line at Dundalk.
Wednesday Racing Tips - February 11
- 15:38 Dundalk - Apiary @ 7/2
- 17:05 Kempton - Hove Ranger @ 6/1
- 17:12 Dundalk - The Real Screamer @ 11/8

15:38 Dundalk - Apiary @ 7/2
The Kevin Coleman-trained APIARY remains a maiden after five starts, but he’s shown plenty in his three runs at Dundalk, including when set too much to do over a mile last month.
Apiary hinted at ability on turf, but he’s improved for the switch to Polytrack this winter, running better than his finishing position suggests in a claimer over course-and-distance in November (hampered inside the final furlong), prior to going down by a head on his handicap debut off a mark of 59 the following month.
Up 2lb and trying a mile at this venue last time, he ultimately found himself too far back, but kept on steadily for pressure in the straight to snatch third.
A return to 7f will suit and he’s unlikely to be far away in a race where few can be seriously fancied.

17:05 Kempton - Hove Ranger @ 6/1
This Kempton race is packed full of unexposed handicap debutants, but the majority of those have shown very little in three starts to date, so it’s probably best to focus on Karakula Dancer and HOVE RANGER, who finished 1-2 in a near identical race over course-and-distance last month.
There was a length-and-three-quarters to separate the pair on that occasion, though Josh and Gary Moore’s gelding, who enjoys a 6lb pull at the weights, can turn the tables.
A draw in stall 12 could have been kinder, but he came home strongly from the rear last time and should be able to drop in under Rhys Clutterbuck and steadily pick rivals off in the straight.

17:12 Dundalk - The Real Screamer @ 11/8
Paul Flynn’s THE REAL SCREAMER has so far proven unbeatable on the AW and he looks capable of defying his latest hike in the weights at Dundalk.
The five-year-old is currently 3-3 on the artificial surfaces, all of those successes coming over this course-and-distance, the first of which was achieved off a mark of just 47 in December 2024.
He added to that last May off 69 and produced the performance of his career so far when defying 75 on his seasonal return in January.
All three of his wins have been gained by wide margins - five lengths and three lengths (twice) - and, while he’s now up another 8lb to 83, he ran to a Racing Post Rating of 81 last time and did so readily.
