Horse Racing Tips: Kingsfield can be King at Roscommon

We had a very exciting weekend of racing and there’s more to come on Monday. It’s going to be an abnormally busy day, with six meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland.
Roscommon kicks us off and their feature race is a Grade 3, whilst Hamilton, Newton Abbot, Down Royal and Brighton follow swiftly after. Southwell’s eight-race all-weather fixture takes us through the evening, so there’s a little something for everyone.
Amongst our Monday fancies is one for trainer Gordon Elliott, who can complete a hat-trick over fences in Roscommon’s main event.

14:25 Hamilton - Kranjcar @ 6/4
George Boughey is in good form at the moment and the same is definitely true of his runner KRANJCAR. The four-year-old completed a four-timer at Leicester last time out and there’s every chance that he remains ahead of the handicapper.
His overall record on turf is impressive enough, winning five of his 12 starts and finishing second or third a further four times. This son of Acclamation was a game winner over this trip at Leicester last time and has developed a good relationship with jockey Henry Callan.
He carries a 5lb penalty as a result and may need to find more improvement in order to claim a fifth consecutive win. It’s worth noting that the handicapper doesn’t have him in their grasp just yet, so the gelding could be worth keeping on side until his limitations are exposed.

16:10 Hamilton - Corolla Point @ 4/1
Edward Bethell is a name to watch in the training ranks and COROLLA POINT has a massive chance of adding to his tally of winners at Hamilton on Monday. Every pound can make a difference here so his 1lb three-year-old allowance could be significant.
He began his career with Charlie Appleby and managed to win a Yarmouth maiden over this trip on debut last October. It was a fair effort when fourth under a penalty at Doncaster, but he was outstayed on handicap debut at Ascot after that.
Returning to 5f on stable debut at Haydock earlier this month, he also returned to winning ways, scoring by a length-and-a-half. The handicapper has put the son of Blue Point up 7lb as a result but he remains lightly raced and there should be loads more to come.

16:35 Roscommon - King Of Kingsfield @ 11/8
Gordon Elliott’s KING OF KINGSFIELD made his chasing debut at Navan back in October, finishing second to stablemate Down Memory Lane. Returning to the larger obstacles this summer, he has since won twice and will be going for the hat-trick here.
He got the better of the Willie Mullins-trained My Great Mate at Galway in July and followed up with little fuss at Ballinrobe. A return to higher classes was going to happen sooner or later and he has more than enough ability to suggest he can win this Grade 3 contest.
His hurdles form is also pretty strong and he was second to stablemate Brighterdaysahead in a Grade 3 at Down Royal back in November. The ratings suggest that Westport Cove is the one to beat but King Of Kingsfield has more to give over fences.
