Southwell Tips: Justice to be served on Sunday

There are five UK and Irish race meetings taking place on Sunday and there is an eight-race card to sink our teeth into at Southwell.
Below you will find my Southwell Tips for Sunday, July 13.

16:05 Southwell - Immediate Effect @ 10/3
There is a stacked field of 14 runners declared for this Class 3 handicap on Sunday, contested over 1m. There are few notable candidates to keep an eye on for this one, but my attention is fixated on IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
The three-year-old was a close second on his reappearance at Brighton in May, before following this up with a maiden handicap victory over C&D on last outing in June. His career form now stands at 1221, so he is one to be respected on his latest return to Southwell.
He knows the track well and this should serve him well on Sunday. Trainer Sir Mark Prescott will be pleased with how his gelding is showing regular improvements. He and connections should be feeling confident about Immediate Effect's chances here, especially as ground conditions are looking favourable.

16:40 Southwell - Tralee Girl @ 11/1
This Class 3 handicap is another stacked field, with 12 runners declared for this one. Again, there are a number of candidates worth looking at for a punt, but it is TRALEE GIRL I have a good feeling about on Sunday.
The three-year-old filly has enjoyed a bright start to her career, having placed in all six of her starts to date, which included a hat-trick of victories at Catterick, Windsor and Wolverhampton between April and May.
She is well travelled and should have no issues with this 1m 3f trip. Her latest appearance was a close second at Ffos Las, so trainer Michael Bell and connections will be interested to see how she fares on her first visit to Southwell.
Conditions look like they could work in her favour here, and she will be reunited with rider Jay Mackay, who was on board for her maiden victory.

17:15 Southwell - Miss Justice @ 1/1
MISS JUSTICE rounds off my selections in this Class 4 Stakes race, contested over a 1m 4f trip. She was a runner-up twice on the Wolverhampton tapeta in April and May, before finishing second on her handicap debut at Sandown last time out in June.
That latest trip didn't quite go to plan but it was still positive that she still fared well. Trainers John and Thady Gosde know that she can deliver better and they will be hoping this will be the case on her first visit to Southwell.
It's a small field of six declared for this one, and the four-year-old filly has by far the best form of all the runners, so we could be about to witness her claim her first maiden victory. She's the one to beat, which brings its own pressures but I think she will rise to the challenge.
