Redcar hosts a competitive seven-race card on Tuesday, the action getting underway from the North Yorkshire coastal track at 14.33 and concluding at 17:35.

Handicaps dominate the card outside of the opening novice stakes and preceding seller, including a 0-80 over 6f and a 0-85 over 1m2f. There’s also a couple of sprint handicaps and a staying event.

Whilst probably not a betting proposition, trainer Harry Charlton will surely be bitterly disappointed should Schrodinger’s Cat not get off the mark in the 5f juvenile novice.

15:03 Redcar - U Turn @ 3/1

Tim Easterby, fresh from his victory in the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster on Friday with the rapid Revival Power, can do little wrong at present and he may well hold the key to the 6f selling stakes with both Dream More and U TURN holding solid claims.

The latter named is the highest rated of the 11 runners (71) and is generally consistent over both 5f and 6f, finishing in the money in over half of his 11 lifetime starts.

He’s got a bit to find with a few of these at the weights, including Mossvale Diva, who runs in the same ownership, but he’s got close in his two previous starts at this level and should get  something close to his optimum underfoot conditions, albeit he does seem to handle most surfaces.

15:33 Redcar - Money Pockets @ 6/1

The Martin Dunne-trained MONEY POCKETS remains a maiden after six starts, but she won’t be winning out of turn, having found just one too good on each of her last three outings.

The daughter of Harry Angel hinted at ability in the spring, but has taken her form to a new level since going handicapping, running to Racing Post Ratings of 61, 67 and 70 when second at Doncaster, Newmarket and Lingfield respectively.

Despite running with tremendous credit, it’s been a case of what might have been for the three-year-old, who lost valuable ground on two of those occasions, including when beaten just a neck on the All-Weather at Lingfield 17 days earlier.

She’s gone up another 2lb for that latest defeat, so is now on a career-high mark of 64, but she’s clearly very capable and will take some beating if consenting to break on terms.
