Queen Mary Stakes 2025 Tips: Opener looking a very spicy affair at Royal Ascot

The first race on Day 2 of the Royal meeting is the Queen Mary - fast two-year-old fillies tackling the minimum trip of 5f.
None of these relative babies is terribly experienced, but they all have terrific, mainly untapped potential. Is there a Marling, or a Lyric Fantasy hiding in there somewhere I wonder? An Attraction? We're about to find out ...

At time of writing 25 are slated to face the starter, and I'll certainly be taking advantage of the four places each-way.
It's the most obvious thing imaginable to say but there's wide-open and then there's this. All we can do is look to identify some of the qualities we know will be required, and to a modest stake sit back and enjoy the high-octane fun.
My selection Spicy Marg is a daughter of Starspangledbanner, trained by Michael Bell, and with just one racecourse appearance behind her. That was however at a substantial Grade 1 track, Newmarket, and in a warm novice at this 5f trip on good to firm ground.
Only three opponents were in her way but she saw them off readily under today's pilot Kieran Shoemark, recording a very taking Racing Post rating (94) into the bargain. Staying the 5f trip well on the Rowley Mile is no mean feat either and bodes well for her mission in Berkshire.
That victory was 45 days ago and one assumes connections immediately pencilled in 'Queen Mary' on the stable door, and began plotting.
There are so many dangers, from great yards that do well here, and/or do well with juvenile fillies, or just plain old do well whatever the circumstances. It's Royal Ascot for goodness sake.
High Society fans will be all over Aidan O'Brien's True Love, two seconds so far and being backed as I write, while maintaining the nautical theme I like that Fozzy Stack has booked Oisin Murphy for the yard's Cardiff By The Sea.
Cracking heat - enjoy.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
