Nottingham Tips: Thunder to hit Nottingham again on Friday

After enjoying some success at Nottingham on Tuesday, with two of my three selections landing, I return for Friday's meeting to deliver my best bets from the six-race card.

14:50 Nottingham - Thunderous Love @ 7/2

The second race of the day is a Class 5 handicap over 6f and there is no horse with stronger claims than THUNDEROUS LOVE. The four-year-old makes a hat-trick bid on Friday, having a C&D victory here which was followed by further success at Newbury.

The filly has now won four of her past six rides (including two C&D), having ran at Nottingham on three occasions. She is familiar with the track here, with her past two appearances coming in the last six weeks.

Thunderous Love boasts the strongest form in Friday's six-horse field and her claim is strengthened by the fact that Rob Hornby, who was on board for her recent wins, is booked for this ride - as both bid to complete the hat-trick.

16:00 Nottingham - Life Is Rosie @ 9/2

LIFE IS ROSIE will be hoping to share the feeling of her name on Friday when she competes in this Class 5 Stakes race over 1m 2f. Of this eight-horse field, there are a few notable candidates but it is Ollie Sangter's charges who I think could be a shrewd selection.

This three-year-old is beginning to look exposed after her first six starts but there was encouragement from her latest outing, a second-place finish (out of nine) over the same trip at Windsor on June 16.

Sangster will have been pleased with what he saw from that last ride, and both he and connections will be wondering if there is more to come from her on her first visit to Nottingham.

If she has a similar performance here as she did last time out, she will be in the mix. Life Is Rosie has decent claims but an each-way selection may be deemed appropriate here. Betfred are paying 1/5 on three places in this race.

16:31 Nottingham - San Francisco Bay @ 9/4

The penultimate race on the card is this Class 6 handicap over 1m 2f. Nine runners are declared for this one and only a couple are in decent form to be considered the leading contenders here. One of them is SAN FRANCISCO BAY, who posted a respectable second over C&D in his last appearance on July 5.

The six-year-old showed promise on that occasion and has raised hopes that he could be set to end a lengthy winless run, which goes back to 2023. There have been 13 rides since, and while there have been a couple of placed finishes, they have so far proven to be nothing more than false dawns.

However, Friday's field does not look particularly strong, so the gelding has decent claims and the drought could come to an end. With his latest appearance at Nottingham being rather fresh(13 days), I think we can expect another positive run from the son of Muhaarar and Stor Mo Chroi.
