Newmarket Tips: Odin can show his worth on Saturday

We are not short of racing action on Saturday as there are seven meeting across the UK and Ireland to enjoy. I'm drawn to the action at Newmarket, where I have picked out my three best bets of the day.

14:10 Newmarket - Azleet @ 7/2

The six-race card kicks off with a nursey handicap for fillies over 6f. Five runners are declared for this one and there are a few with decent claims. The one who stands out to me is AZLEET for Stuart Williams' yard.

The two-year-old daughter of Tasleet landed her maiden success on her latest appearance at Southwell (AW) and that performance leaves her with a good mark ahead of her nursery debut.

Her first two starts were second-place finishes at Chelmsford (AW) and Yarmouth, which also showed promise, and there is a feeling she can fare well as a handicapper.

15:20 Newmarket - Bowerchalke @ 9/1

Another filly I have a good feeling about is BOWERCHALKE for Jane Chapple-Hyam's yard, who features in this Class 1 Listed race over 1m 4f. The three-year-old daughter of New Boy landed her third victory last time out at Southwell (AW) over 1m 3f, defeating Likealot by one-and-three-quarter lengths.

She has been progressive over handicaps but her last Listed appearance left more to be desired as she finished seventh of 10 at Goodwood in June. The ground conditions were not favourable that day but the forecast bodes well for the surface on Saturday at Newmarket.

Bowechalke now boasts two wins in her last three outings so I think she offers good value here at 9/1 with strong claims.

16:35 Newmarket - Odin Legacy @ 6/1

I round off my selections in the penultimate race of the day, a Class 3 handicap over 1m 4f. There are 10 runners declared for this contest and there are a few with decent claims, including ODIN LEGACY for Richard Hannon's yard.

The four-year-old colt has three victories this season, once at this distance and two over similar trips. He has placed in each of his past four starts, with the latest being a respectable third-place at Newbury two weeks ago.

Connections will feel that he will have much more to offer and his first visit to Newmarket. I think he will be there or thereabouts.
