Newcastle Tips: Inspired display can see Burke’s charge home

Tuesday's sole flat meeting comes from Newcastle, where there are nine races to get stuck into on the all-weather.

Among our three fancies is Karl Burke's Inspired, who returns to Gosforth Park after a promising second at this course on debut in January.

Race number four on the card is a Maiden Stakes over 1m 5y and of the eight runners battling it out for glory, preference is for Inspired to get the job done.

The Karl Burke-trained charge was second over course-and-distance on debut back in January, finding only the Hollie Doyle-ridden Chess Dad too good that day.

Inspired has not been seen since that runners-up effort but the three-year-old is fancied to go one better on his return for Burke, who landed a winner at Newcastle earlier in the month and has a strike-rate of 21.43% at this track over the last 12 months.

17:45 - Front Gunner @ 10/1

Betfred are paying out four places in the sixth race of the meeting - a 14-runner Handicap over 7f 14y - and this looks like a good opportunity for Front Gunner to land a hat-trick of wins at Newcastle.

The four-year-old registered a C&D success in an 11-runner Handicap on November 7th and is backed to continue that fine form, despite being handed a 3lb rise in the weights.

Tom Eaves was aboard for that success at Gosforth Park and he is once again in the saddle on Tuesday, just as he was when these two combined to score at Newcastle in October last year.

19:15 - Ganesha @ 4/1

Betfred are also offering four places in the finale - a 13-runner Handicap over 5f - where there are a few contenders who make appeal in what looks like an even contest.

Carlton And Co, who has three wins from 14 runs this year and is a course winner, is one to be noted, but it is Ganesha who gets the nod for trainer Phillip Makin.

The four-year-old landed a second C&D win in March this year, beating Frank The Spark by nearly a length to add to the Newcastle success in October 2023.

Ganesha put in a solid performance when finishing second over C&D 11 days ago and Makin's charge has serious claims, if a similar effort can be reproduced.
