Nap of the Day: Owen’s got eyes for 5/2 Finalise at Goodwood

There's lots to look forward to on the racing front on Wednesday. Listowel's Harvest Festival continues, staging the Kerry National, and there's classy cards at Goodwood, Kempton, Perth and Redcar too.
Goodwood is the destination for my Nap of the Day - a lightly-raced, promising young filly for tip-top connections.

The saying 'anything they do this year is a bonus' was made for horses like FINALISE.
William Haggas' three-year-old daughter of 2018 Derby hero Masar is very much a big, backwards filly. I urge you to go and watch a replay of her in action. She's a unit.
That greenness was especially evident on her second-ever start at Windsor back in July, when beaten at 2/5f.
She looked completely lost over 1m2f on rattling quick ground, yet finished within a length of Ollie Sangster's 70-rated Life Is Rosie, who dictated things from the front. It's fair to say I believe the selection to be a lot better than the bare result.
Her debut effort at Ffos Las a month prior is a better indicator of her ability. The half-sister to Group 3-winning mare Bashkirova proved no match for Andrew Balding's then 75-rated Fantasy World - though finished 11 lengths clear of the rest of the field - but he's since gone up 14lbs in the handicap, so it's a piece of form that's aged rather well.
Most recently, Finalise put in a clear career-best performance on the all-weather at Kempton, surging a whopping 12 lengths clear of eight rivals - including last-time-out winner Shrimp Shady (80), sent off 6/5f, and subsequent victor Gnomon (78). No mugs, then.
As well as showing general improvement, I thought she absolutely relished the step up to 1m4f. She tries another couple of furlongs on Wednesday, which I fancy to yield the same results.
I suspect a mark of 84 underestimates this lightly-raced individual, who surely has a lot more to offer, especially over these staying trips.
Her rivals in West Sussex includes the consistent Likealot, Spirit Of Jura, Incensed and Steps In The Sand, who should all run to form again, but Finalise is the one with the most potential and I am confident of a bold showing for a team that remain in sparkling form (both Haggas and jockey Tom Marquand operate at around a 20% strike rate).
