Nap of the day generic

There's plenty of racing action to look forward to on Monday across Britain and Ireland, with four meetings down to be run.

Jumps action comes from Naas and Plumpton alongside Lingfield and Wolverhampton (evening) on the all-weather on a busy day with 33 races.

Monday's NAP turned in a poor run last time but could quickly rebound from that at Wolverhampton.

17:00 Wolverhampton – Holy Fire @ 4/1

Evening fare on the Tapeta comes from Dunstall Park, with nine races at Wolverhampton from 16:30.

The second of those is a Class 5 Fillies Handicap over 7f and HOLY FIRE is fancied to run well for the Charlie Fellowes yard.

The mare went very close on her penultimate start at Lingfield over this trip in early November, rattling home fast after getting stuck in a pocket as she finished second behind Ten Club, a gelding that was well handicapped after a close call here previously.

Off the back of that she was made favourite for a similar contest at Lingfield but couldn't really muster a challenge after sitting in midfield in what was a bunched finish.

That has proved a warm race, the winner going 2-2 since and the second and fourth also both winning and it may be wise to forgive her that effort.

She runs from the same mark of 64, reverting to running against her own sex, and carries a lightweight of just 8st 12lb in this grade.

At her best, she was second at Kempton (6f) in a Class 4 in the spring of last year when rated 81.

Her second at Yarmouth in October was over 6f, too, and that effort allied to good efforts in the defeat at Lingfield the last twice, especially against a bunch of rivals that have franked the form since, have been strong hints that a win is looming.

A strike rate of 1-20 on the all-weather is one drawback, but she hasn't had many goes from this reduced rating and this will be the first such attempt against her own sex.

Recent course winner Bella Bisbee and in-form Electric Avenue are obvious dangers, while Hilltop also brings claims having won here in September and finished second at Newcastle on her most recent start.

Jason Hart's filly is taken to run a big race and she can surely take advantage from this sort of mark soon.
