Nap of the Day: It’s Burns night over in Ireland on Wednesday

No luck yesterday with our Osborne family conveyance at Ffos Las, though it was heavily backed from the 5/1 available when we tipped it up and evidently plenty was expected.
For Wednesday, I'm sticking with the girls and taking a punt in a big field over in Ireland. Great value in my book and well worth a second glance. Our Nap of the Day then for August 6 runs in the ...
Nap Of The Day - Wednesday, August 6

Eight days ago at Galway the nine-year-old gelding Loingseoir was sent off the 9/2 favourite for a little handicap, run at a distance of just over a mile.
Beautifully bred (by Henrythenavigator out of a Jeremy mare), the selection was in rear and effectively had no chance from a long way out - tough to come around the outside at Galway - but ran on to such effect from a hopeless situation that he was only 3.25l down at the line.
On board was the prodigiously talented young lady rider Nicola Burns, tremendous value for her 7lb claim, and she renews the partnership tonight in an optional claimer. I feel it's massively significant that connections go to the well again so soon, and also they're taking out an extra insurance policy - this race is 1m 2.5f, giving the combination plenty of time to get organised.
The horse is down a pound from Galway, to 67; but off 68 the time before last, at the Curragh, Loingseoir was beaten just over 4l in a £15k event. No Nicola on that occasion - she was riding the eventual second in what was billed as a Ladies Derby handicap - but she has ridden him previously and it's significant to me at least that the partnership remains intact tonight.
The horse has been rated a high as 85 in the past and I think he retains a nice chunk of ability, as evidenced on the track recently without the cards perhaps falling his way.
On Wednesday early evening recompense could well await and as his last winning mark was 68 we're in the right ballpark.
Can't wait. Nicola's mustard and the old boy can still travel.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
