Nap of the Day: Big show expected at Hamilton, Tuesday evening

Tuesday's Nap Of The Day comes from Hamilton Park, the small matter of a couple of hundred miles from Betfred Head Office here in Warrington. Our nap makes a 340+mile trek from Wiltshire, and I'm hopeful that it's a journey well worth making.
All will be revealed ...
Nap Of The Day - Tuesday, August 12
- 19:10 - Wave Rider @ 9/4
19:10 - Wave Rider @ 9/4
Harry Charlton sends this three-year-old Belardo gelding out of a Golden Horn mare from Beckhampton to contest this 9f Class 3 handicap, worth around £13k to the winner.
Our selection Wave Rider ran in a Sandown novice at two last June, was gelded in the autumn, then signed off for the season in October with a close-up Yarmouth third to a Frankel colt of Roger Varian's.
That winner, Sallaal, has won twice since including a £15k Class 2 handicap on this very course in July. Wave Rider has had four runs this term and his performance level has risen on each and every occasion.
He's run well in two handicaps either side of a hot £21k Sandown maiden success over 10f, and tackles nine on a similarly taxing course this evening. Should be perfect.
Connections are travelling a long way for what looks a perfectly excellent winning opportunity with a horse that could easily be Listed or Group class in time, and regular jockey Trevor Whelan will hope it's a fruitful visit as it's his only mount on the card.
The round trip has got to be in the vicinity of 700 miles - but it's just over one mile and one furlong that will really count on Tuesday evening. Huge chance.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
