Nap of the Day: Moore success beckons for teak-tough filly at Goodwood

Gorgeous, armchair Nap Of The Day winner yesterday (advised 6/4, won @ 11/8), and I bid for three from the last four on Thursday at Glorious Goodwood with a rattling good horse who's enjoying a superb season.
There could be even more to come from this well entered-up filly and she's surely going to take the world of beating right now on the Downs.

- Goodwood 15:05 - Whirl @ 6/5
Goodwood 15:05 - Whirl @ 6/5
This three-year-old daughter of Wootton Bassett out of a Galileo mare is tough, talented and progressive. Four wins from eight in her career to date, and certainly at three she appears equally adept at 10 or 12f.
Impressive winner of York's Musidora, then a terrific neck second to gifted stablemate Minnie Hauk in the Betfred Oaks, Whirl reserved arguably her best for last time, at the Curragh 33 days ago, in the G1 Pretty Polly.
At this 10f distance she repelled Kalpana, superb runner-up to Calandagan in last weekend's King George, by a cosy 1.25l - and won 'going away,' in the parlance of the Racing Post race-readers.
Aidan O'Brien trains, and Ryan Moore (in scintillating order once again this Goodwood) rides. Goodness knows what her ceiling might turn out to be, but she's tenacious, and her habitual make all style could be suited absolutely perfectly to this assignment.
Ryan setting his own fractions up front, and digging deep to repel all would-be boarders in the straight. Can't wait for this one, and I'm just hoping the price, odds-against as I write, holds up for us.
The only danger of sorts I see is the four-year-old See The Fire, who must concede 9lb to the younger horse. I'm thinking that's the tallest of orders frankly, and if our selection gives her running or even better she's going to be devilishly hard to beat.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
