Nap of the Day: Time for the ladies to shine at Chepstow

Yesterday's nap obliged nicely in the manner we'd envisaged (advertised 6/4, returned 6/5), ending a frustrating little run of near-misses. Never a moment when he looked anything other than the comfortable winner.
For Thursday's attempt to double up I'm heading to Chepstow for a little 7f basement handicap. Reckon it's this one's turn ... care to read on?
Nap Of The Day - Thursday, August 14
- 16:45 Chepstow - Soi Dao @ 10/3
16:45 Chepstow - Soi Dao @ 10/3
My best bet for Thursday is a six-year-old daughter of Twilight Son, an ultra-smart practitioner himself back in the day at 6f, out of a decent Rip Van Winkle mare; and he was a tip-top mile/10f horse.
Plenty of breeding bases covered then for tonight's 7f trip, but she showed here 20 days ago that it's right up her street when going under by a short-head to one of today's opponents Romanovich.
My selection Soi Dao is just a pound better off for that narrow margin but gets jockey Taryn Langley tonight (claims 5lb), and she's been consistently among the winners of late and making quite a name for herself.
Her partner is trained by Adrian Wintle in Gloucestershire, and though only winning three races she's commendably consistent. In a decent little trot of form finishing there and thereabouts, especially last time, and with on-song Taryn's claim, Soi Dao can take this little contest and land our nap double.
The yard have had a couple of winners of late including at Leicester on Sunday, and Mr Wintle is a shrewd operator who knows what's required.
It wouldn't be the most glamorous contest of the day but the price looks right and she can surely go very, very close.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
