It was a successful return to Nap of the Day duties on Friday, courtesy of a 2/1 winner at Salisbury.

Fingers crossed for more joy on Saturday, as I put my faith in a beautifully-bred filly at Chester.

William Haggas is a trainer in form. The Newmarket handler is operating at a 28% strike rate in the past fortnight, courtesy of 11 winners from 40 runners.

He boasts chances on both sides of the Irish Sea this Saturday, including Crown Of Oaks in the Silver Cup at Beverley and Godwinson in the Irish Cambridgeshire at the Curragh, but it's KINSWOMAN at Chester who stands out to me.

The three-year-old daughter of Mehmas is a half-sister to last year's Lockinge hero Audience, rated 124 at his peak, and Group 3 winners Esquire and Dark Lady who also donned the famous red, white and blue of Cheveley Park, so it's fair to say she's been a bit underwhelming in her career to date.

That being said, she wasn't disgraced in any of her three starts in maiden company, before bumping into a rival who's rated 10lbs higher today on handicap debut at Windsor in May.

Connections then opted to give the selection another go in a maiden at Brighton, where she was just touched off by one of Andrew Balding's at the line. Another fine effort.

That first victory came at the sixth time of asking, as Kinswoman obliged in a novice event back at Windsor earlier this month. She beat nothing of note, but looked at home over the minimum trip of five furlongs and hopefully the winning experience will do her the world of good.

If she can indeed kick on, there's every chance she could leave her mark of 75, which is just two pounds higher than her previous attempt in a handicap, behind. She's so unexposed, both in handicaps and at the trip, and ought to have much more to offer.

On top of all that, she has the right credentials for the unique test a sprint at Chester provides.

You really want to be drawn low and able to lie up with the pace over such distances on the Knavesmire. Kinswoman emerges from stall one on Saturday and fits the bill in regards to her running style.

If she makes a clean break out of the gates and gets to the front, or somewhere near, I expect her to at least go very close.
