Nap of the Day: Spencer runner set for better Constantine Handicap performance

The fourth and final day of the York Ebor Festival takes place on Saturday and there is a stacked seven-race card across the day's action. It is from this track that I have picked my Nap of the Day for Saturday.
It comes from the Constantine Handicap, where I like the look of a runner who featured in this race a year ago, and he returns with strong claims and unfinished business.

TWO TRIBES is the horse in question, representing Richard Spencer's yard. He finished fourth in this Class 2 handicap over 6f a year ago, losing out by just one-and-a-quarter lengths. It was an impressive run from the then three-year-old gelding and he looks like he will be a big player as he returns for a second crack at this contest.
Unlike last year, though, he is heading into the Ebor Festival in good form, having enjoyed back-to-back successes at Ascot (International Handicap) and Goodwood (Stewards' Cup) over seven and six furlongs respectively. Both were prestigious events and so he is coming back to the Constantine Handicap at York with far stronger claims than he did 12 months ago.
His run at Newmarket (July) before the triumph at Ascot was a respectable third of 11, which gave Spencer and connections a lot of positives to take moving forward. Two Tribes perhaps demonstrated more drastic improvements than they were expecting since but it has put him in an excellent position heading into Saturday.
The son of Rajasinghe arrives at the Ebor Festival with a 13lb off the back of his recent efforts and while that may be seen as an obstacle to overcome, I think he will rise to the occasion.
He has good momentum behind him and his form is better than most of the others declared in this 20-horse field. I think Two Tribes will still have plenty left in the tank when this race rolls around, and you get the sense that Spencer has unfinished business in this one following last season's result.
Ground conditions were good to firm that day and the same is set for York on Saturday. The stars might just be aligning for him here and his 13/2 gives him excellent value on the face of it.
