14:25 Leopardstown - Norwalk Havoc @ 13/2

There is plenty of rain forecast to hit Leopardstown before racing on Sunday, and that would play to the strengths of Norwalk Havoc, who is looking to win the Listed Knocknaire Stakes for the second year running.

He had excuses for his first two defeats this season, given he likely needed his reappearance and then would’ve found the ground too quick at Galway, but he bounced back when returned to his favoured conditions in the Listowel Stakes last time.

He’s at his best on a testing surface, as he showed when taking his record on heavy ground to 2-2 with victory in this race in October last year, and could be hard to pass now back at the scene of his career-best performance.

15:50 Kempton - Rubaud @ 11/8

A lot of the eyes will be on Champion Hurdle runner-up Burdett Road when he makes his first start over hurdles since the Cheltenham Festival in a Listed event at Kempton, but it could be worth siding with Rubaud instead.

Rubaud is back over hurdles, having been given wind surgery since being well beaten in a Grade 1 novice chase at the Punchestown Festival, and his form in this sphere is quite comparable, notably the fact they’ve both finished around nine lengths behind Constitution Hill over this course and distance.

Rubaud was in career-best form this time last year, winning this race before following up in the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton, and he is taken to enhance his fine record at Kempton, where his form figures under Harry Cobden read 21121F1, including two Grade 2s and two Listed events.

16:06 Sedgefield - Bumpy Evans @ 5/4

The highly progressive Bumpy Evans is hard to ignore in the Durham National Handicap Chase at Sedgefield.

The seven-year-old has won five of his seven starts over fences, with his only defeats coming on his reappearance over an inadequate trip in January and on his stable debut for Kerry Lee at Uttoxeter last month.

He bounced straight back when winning by six lengths at Warwick last month under Conor O’Farrell, who was making it two wins from as many rides on Bumpy Evans, and looks underestimated by a 9lb rise, given he recorded a Racing Post Rating of 128, which is 7lb above his current rating.

16:15 Limerick - Aspurofthemoment @ 5/1

The Munster National looks a good spot for the Gavin Cromwell-trained Aspurofthemoment, who should benefit from stepping back up in trip after finding 2m1½f at Listowel too sharp.

Winner of a 3m point-to-point at Dromahane in November, he looked to be going places when a comfortable winner of a 3m handicap hurdle at Bellewstown in April, and has since taken his form up a notch since chasing this season.

The six-year-old is yet to tackle a staying trip over fences, but he ran out a decisive winner of a 2m4½f beginners’ chase at Kilbeggan on his debut in this sphere and looked in need of further despite landing a 2m2f handicap chase at Galway in August, having looked outpaced before staying on well off a strong pace.

He won a shade cosily that day, with his rider not having to ask him for everything, and there is every chance that this extra emphasis on stamina could bring about even more improvement.
