Lucky 15 Tips: De Sousa to come marching home at Beverley

Welcome to a new week - lots of Carabao Cup, Ryder Cup even - and of course some great racing.

Tuesday's cards include a seven-race feast at beautiful Beverley, and given that I'm a big fan that's where we're headed for our Lucky 15 tips. Action kicks in at 14:08, with James Doyle and Silvestre de Sousa among the star jocks on parade.

14:08 - Circle Of Magic @ 4/7

This could be a bit of a skinny minnie - The Doyler aboard a Wathnan juvenile stepping up to a mile and half-a-furlong.

Circle Of Magic has already had a look at Beverley's unique contours, too - 80 days ago, at a furlong less, finishing a respectable 3.5l adrift in a novice. The second that day went on to win a Newbury nursery and on what will be just his third career start Circle Of Magic is expected to open his account for trainer Archie Watson and his prolific owner.

The two-year-old son of Australia should welcome the additional yardage and in time will no doubt get further if required, as his celebrated sire won the Derby, Irish Derby (both 12f) and the Juddmonte (10.5f).

14:38 - Ironwill @ 13/8

Trainer Stuart Williams raids from Newmarket with his two-year-old Dark Angel colt, Ironwill.

The selection has had two spins in maidens, and on the most recent outing scored narrowly at Brighton. He rocks up then in this novice stakes heat carrying a 7lb penalty for that success but is progressive, and a further leap forward is highly likely.

Jockey Marco Ghiani was on top last time and has the riding assignment once again in East Yorkshire.

15:38 - Coto De Caza @ 2/1

So to jockey Silvestre de Sousa's only booked ride on the card - a three-year-old filly by Sioux Nation, trained by Simon & Ed Crisford at HQ. Lots of Newmarket raiders enjoying the Yorkshire air this afternoon.

This is a conditions stakes race and though we're not best treated by said conditions there's precious little in it. Coto De Caza has a course and distance win under her belt, and ended her two-year-old season with success in the G3 Cornwallis at HQ.

This is a really lovely, competitive heat and the fact that Silvestre is booked (he rode her to win here previously, too, in July last year), tips the scales very firmly in our favour in my view.

Race of the day by a furlong.

16:38 - Drumcondra @ 7/2

Another deadly-looking combo now; one that's been responsible for some very good winners this campaign, including some tipped up by this very column.

Drumcondra is trained by Declan Carroll at Malton in North Yorkshire, and will be ridden by 3lb claimer Zac Wheatley. The selection is a three-year-old Showcasing gelding chasing that elusive first career success on what will be start number eight.

Two useful displays at Musselburgh the last twice, in August and then just nine days ago, finishing second on both occasions (similar trip/grade), and this doesn't look an overly taxing group.

He's going to take one of these before long and I'm fervently hoping it will be his turn on Tuesday afternoon.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
