Lucky 15 Tips: The big dogs are at Worcester on Wednesday

There's an eight-race card at Worcester on Wednesday that kicks in at 13:00. Perfect material then for our Lucky 15 tips, and a great opportunity to catch up with for me the best National Hunt jockey riding since AP McCoy hung up his boots in 2015- one Sean Bowen. He was in sensational, scintillating form at Perth yesterday - more of the same in the Midlands?
Here we go ...
Lucky 15 Tips - Wednesday, October 22

- 15:45 - King Ulanda @ 5/4

13:30 - Wotter Trotter @ 10/3
The mighty Dan Skelton trains this five-year-old Walk In The Park gelding, reappearing after an absence of 244 days.
Wotter Trotter is in the foothills of his career, having started only three times. His debut was back in December 2024, only beaten 4.5l in a little Huntingdon novice, before contesting a warmer affair at Newbury later that month (never competitive, nearly 20l adrift at the finish).
He fared much better when last seen, at Huntingdon once again in February this year, with a staying-on second of 12, beaten just over 8l. The yard send him straight over fences for this seasonal bow, and it's a fair bet that he'll have been well schooled.
He showed definite ability over hurdles but I'm guessing the stable have seen this as his longer-term game right from the start and I'm fascinated to see how he gets on. Dan's conditional Tristan Durrell, claiming 3lb, has the riding assignment.
14:35 - Heron In The Park @ 1/1
The outstanding Harry Cobden rides this five-year-old mare, again by Epsom Derby runner-up Walk In The Park, and she's full of promise at this early stage of her career.
Only two spins to date for Heron In The Park - a comfortable point-to-point victory in December 2024, and an easy success on Rules debut at Newbury no less in a mares' bumper (March 2025).
I bet she's the apple of Gloucestershire trainer Tom George's eye and he could hardly have done a better job than retain the services of Cobden for this first run over hurdles - and don't forget that PTP win, which I'm sure will stand her in good stead also.
Some good yards oppose with nice-looking types but I wouldn't swop this one for any of her rivals.
15:45 - King Ulanda @ 5/4
A decent-looking Class 4 handicap hurdle over 2m.
The selection is King Ulanda, a five-year-old Kingston Hill gelding trained by Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero. He's already won three of his eight starts, and looks to have a brilliant chance of making that four on Wednesday.
He reappeared for the season just six days ago when comfortably winning in this grade by 11l. It was a conditional jockeys' race so King Ulanda can race off the same mark today, 104, and jockey Ben Smith, successful last time, takes off a handy 7lb.
So dangerous to be too hopeful, nay confident, but this one has an awful lot going for him this afternoon in this company, unpenalised, and evidently in great nick.
16:20 - Glance of Glory @ 9/2
We're back worshipping at the feet of young Mr Bowen once again, with a five-year-old Passing Glance gelding trained by Martin Keighley in Gloucestershire.
Glance of Glory has had just the two runs, a useful third at Chepstow in April then 26 days ago here at Worcester finishing first under Sean in a maiden hurdle.
The pair contest a handicap now and the assessor has done the horse no favours in allocating an opening mark of 103 - but that last run was full of promise and with the champion in such irresistible form who's to say this won't be another for the Pembrokeshire wizard?
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £168 for your total £7.50 stake.
