Lucky 15 Tips: Hart of the action is at Wolves on Tuesday

A great supporter of horse racing, and someone who as an owner won races like the Ayr Gold Cup, sadly passed away yesterday. Kevin Keegan, better known as a brilliant, highly-decorated footballer and inspirational manager, battled cancer for some time and has left us at the age of 75. I'd just like to pay tribute to a wonderful sportsman with a gloriously infectious personality, who will be sorely missed.

Tuesday's Lucky 15 comes from Wolverhampton's seven-race evening card that kicks in 18:00. It's never any hardship to go to Dunstall Park for our selections, and there are bigger fields available in the West Midlands than at Nottingham, and Salisbury. Here's to a fun week, culminating in Ascot's King George on Saturday. Football? It'll be back soon enough - meanwhile we're on the eve of the likes of Goodwood, Galway, York - yes please!

19:00 Wolverhampton - Syndicale @ 8/13

This one is likely to be a firm favourite, and it's easy to see why.

The two-year-old Ten Sovereigns filly is unraced, but hails from the all-powerful Karl Burke yard in Coverham, North Yorkshire. Syndicale has some nice entries going forward, including at York's Ebor Festival, and a G1 in Ireland.

This 7f maiden should be well within her compass and she's fancied to make a winning debut. Stable pilot Cliff Lee has the riding assignment.

19:30 Wolverhampton - Grand Vista @ 11/4

A Class 6 handicap over 7f now, for three-year-olds.

The selection is Grand Vista, a Far Above colt out of a Daylami mare. No wins from five career starts, but indicated last time at Chepstow that his turn is surely at hand when beaten just three-quarters-of-a-length at the trip/grade 13 days ago.

Connections pop out pretty quickly for this, and as he was finishing with purpose in Wales I can see him powering home late in the piece today. William Muir and Chris Grassick train, with the excellent Jason Hart in the plate (25% strike-rate in the last 14 days).

20:00 Wolverhampton - Musical Soldier @ 5/2

Once again 7f is the trip, for the second division of the preceding handicap.

We're with Musical Soldier in this, a Soldier's Call gelding in the care of Ollie Sangster at Manton. One win from 12 outings, a handicap here in May off a mark of 50, and he bids to score again off 55 today.

A fine effort when last seen just a week ago at Leicester, beaten a neck on the turf off this same mark, and connections reach out to outstanding 3lb claimer Jack Callan for that extra little edge. Looks like a winner waiting to happen to me - my NAP on the card.

20:30 Wolverhampton - Positive Thoughts @ 4/1

Three-year-olds and upwards go 1m 0.5f in this Class 6 handicap.

It has an open look to it and there's surely value to be had - a remark that applies at time of writing to Positive Thoughts. The three-year-old Elzaam filly is trained by John and Sean Quinn in Norton, North Yorkshire and will be ridden by the aforementioned, red-hot Jason Hart.

Off today's mark of 60, 10 days ago, she finished third beaten 1.5l at Hamilton in a similar affair. She was doing some of her best work at the finish, and again connections are out and about with her fairly quickly looking to go a place or two better and take this little prize, which would be a first success on what will be her eighth start.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £167 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
