It's Day 2 of Chester's famous May meeting, more Listed and Group contests to enjoy, and the first FIVE on the card are being covered LIVE by ITV.

TWO cracking winners at the track yesterday for our L15, advised at 15/2 and 2/1.

Fabulous setting then for Thursday's Lucky 15 tips, so without further ado here's the science bit (if only).

13:30 - Seven Questions @ 5/1

Yesterday's opening sprint was won by the horse drawn in the one box - of course it was, this is Chester after all - so in theory I should just type 'Seven Questions' and be done with it. So I will ...

Mercifully there's a bit more to it than that. Our selection is a five-year-old Kodiac gelding with four wins from 27 starts, and is crucially in the care of Newmarket handler Robert Cowell, possessor of a fine reputation when it comes to sprinters.

Tom Marquand has been booked to do the steering, too, for the first time - another big plus. He's been dropped a couple of spots to a mark of 89 and has a run style that leans towards looking to make all. From the best possible draw that scenario has a much better chance of success today.

He was favourite last time for a good race at Ripon 12 days ago but in truth didn't shine. Mrs Fitri Hay's speedster could enjoy far better luck this afternoon on his first visit to the Roodee, and will surely go close.

14:35 - Constitution River @ 5/6

Listed action now, over 10.5f, for the Dee Stakes. A race first run in 1813. Just let that sink in for a minute ... !

The 2026 renewal looks very respectable. Three-year-olds gather looking to snaffle a £56k first prize, and by my reckoning Aidan O'Brien has already won this on twelve previous occasions.

He trains our selection Constitution River in this, a son of outstanding, unbeaten two-year-old Wootton Bassett. Three runs have yielded two wins so far, and the solitary defeat was by a neck to the subsequent 2000 Guineas third Distant Storm.

He's well entered up as befits a potential prince of Ballydoyle and looks by far the most likely winner here - priced accordingly, of course. Has Morshdi from the William Haggas yard rated very similarly, but the Aidan/Ryan Moore factor is powerful indeed.

15:05 - Rahiebb @ 10/3

Group 3 time with the Ormonde, over 1m 5.5f, and a fine field chasing a handsome £85k pot.

The selection is a four-year-old Frankel colt, out of a Street Cry mare (a middle-distance winner herself in decent handicap company). Rahiebb runs in the famous silks of Ahmed Al Maktoum, and has won once from seven career starts so far.

When last seen he ran a stormer to be second in the G1 Betfred St Leger, just a neck down to Scandinavia, in a massive career-best. This looks like a brilliant place to begin his 2026 campaign which might end up taking in the likes of the Ascot Gold Cup, or similar tests at York, Goodwood and the like.

What a great-looking race to savour. Roger Varian trains and Ray Dawson, on board for that Leger near-thing, retains the ride.

15:40 - Archer Royal @ 9/1

I'm hunting a bit of good old-fashioned value in what looks like an absolutely wide-open handicap, for three-year-olds.

Team Gosden run a Godolphin-owned gelded son of Blue Point, and the man who rode that awesome G1 sprinter to many of his successes, Will Buick, is doing the steering on 'junior' today.

Archer Royal has one win from his four starts to date, on Chelmsford debut last August. He then kept very good company for two HQ spins at G3 level, and reappeared 40 days ago at Kempton with a never-nearer 10l seventh at this kind of level.

He's likely to be far more effectively wound up for this and the yard are operating at around a 24% strike-rate. On the scoreboard here yesterday, too. Being drawn 11 isn't ideal but at least he's got just about a lap of the Roodee to find a possie and work out a trip.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £580 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
