Lucky 15 Tips: Going for a Mullins x Townend double at Clonmel

We will be treated to six race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Thursday with a nice blend of jumps and flat action, so there will be something for everyone.

13:05 Newbury - Inside Man @ 4/1

INSIDE MAN continued his good form from the end of last season on his reappearance at Newton Abbot (2m1f) in September, so he is in good nick ahead of this 2m1/2f Class 3 handicap hurdle at Newbury.

He has been making his mark in juvenile and novice hurdles and has already claimed four victories over this distance. There is a 4lb rise to consider on this occasion and this is going to be a very competitive field.

But the Jane Williams-trained five-year-old has momentum coming into this and he isn't going to be refrained from further progress. Solid claims.

14:22 Clonmel - Spindleberry @ 1/3

The first of a Willie Mullins and Paul Townend combination at Clonmel I am favouring on Thursday. SPINDLEBERRY. This seven-year-old mare had a strong end to the previous season with three consecutive victories at Cork (2m5f) and Fairyhouse (2m6f and 2m4f).

Mullins and connections will be hoping that the long break hasn't impacted her momentum ahead of this 2m5f trip. She has plenty of experience over this distance, with three victories to date. The renewed partnership with the talented Townend, who steered her to the first two wins of the current streak, should serve her well on her reappearance.

14:57 Clonmel - Il Etait Temps @ 2/5

Big player up next for Mullins as Il Etait Temps makes his first appearance since defeating Jonbon at Sandown in April in what was a career-best result. This seven-year-old gelding is hoping to extend his winning run to four and he is certainly the one to beat here.

So much is to be admired about his jumping as well as his general travelling, as shown in his latest triumph against Jonbon. He does have some form on soft ground but we have tended to see him at his best on good.

Regardless, this is a return everyone is looking forward to seeing and I am expecting a strong performance from the son of Jukebox Jury. Townend to do the business in the saddle.

19:15 Chelmsford - Lipsink @ 15/2

Michael Appleby's LIPSINK is hoping to make it four wins on the bounce as he heads to Chelmsford for this Class 4 handicap over 6f, a distance he has enjoyed success over four times in his career.

The eight-year-old has also posted a victory at this racecourse over 5f back in 2021. The eight-year-old has now won four of his last six starts and so he is certainly a strong one to consider in his current mood.

The only stumbling block is that he is placed in one of the outside stalls, but current form suggests it may not make much of a difference to his performance.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
