Lucky 15 Tips: Melbourne to Lord it on Town Moor

There are six meetings across Britain and Ireland on Saturday, and there is live ITV coverage supporting the big three - Aintree, Doncaster and Wincanton.
I've picked out four selections to form my Lucky 15 tips on what promises to be a thrilling afternoon.
Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, November 8
- 12:55 Aintree - Katate Dori @ 7/1
- 14:40 Aintree - Colonel Harry @ 7/1
- 15:30 Wincanton - Threeunderthrufive @ 3/1
- 15:45 Doncaster - Lord Melbourne @ 7/1
*odds correct at time of publication
12:55 Aintree - Katate Dori @ 7/1
KATATE DORI is one of a couple of chasers reverting to hurdles off lower marks in this Pertemps qualifier, and, if he's fit and well, he ought to have a big chance.
His form did take off for going chasing last season, but that also coincided with a step up to 3m for the first time, so he could well prove dangerous even though his previous hurdles form would give him no chance off his current mark of 132 (he's 5lb higher over fences).
This race was won by chasers reverting to hurdles in 2021 and 2022, while the Pertemps qualifier at Newbury on Thursday was dominated by the chasers Haiti Couleurs and Bill Baxter, so it's a tried and tested route.
The Lord Maid, very progressive last season, is one of many dangers in a tight little race.
14:40 Aintree - Colonel Harry @ 7/1
COLONEL HARRY was a useful novice over fences a couple of seasons ago, finishing second in Grade 1 company and winning a Grade 2 at Wetherby.
He didn't get a fair run of things last season, having picked up an injury when falling four out in a class handicap at Cheltenham on New Year's (third favourite) after not staying when fancied for the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury.
He has a tendency to go well fresh, though, and he won first time out in 2023 and was second on his reappearance last season in a Listed chase at Carlisle when badly in at the weights.
The Aintree fences are an unknown, but he's a big price for a horse of his ability, especially with his yard in flying form.
15:30 Wincanton - Threeunderthrufive @ 3/1
THREEUNDERTHRUFIVE is a 10-year-old who won't have any improvement in him, but Paul Nicholls routinely gets the best out of his older horses, and this one tends to run very well fresh.
He was second in a much better renewal of this two years ago and ran at least as well when third from a much higher mark in a Grade 3 handicap at Ascot on last season's return.
The yard also had a lightly raced improver entered for this who was a shorter price ante-post, and the fact that they are relying solely on Threeunderthrufive for a race they have won 11 times speaks volumes.
15:45 Doncaster - Lord Melbourne @ 7/1
No horse has ever won the November Handicap twice, but if there is one with the tools to do so, it is surely LORD MELBOURNE.
The five-year-old had clearly had his problems after winning last year, as he didn't return this season until September, but he made up for lost time by blowing away his rivals in a decent 1m2f handicap at Epsom, winning very easily by just over four lengths.
A 9lb rise does make him 13lb higher than last year, but the fact that he could win so readily over 1m2f when he stays this two-furlong longer trip so well, suggests he has improved in a big way, so there could be even more to come now.
Odds are likely to fluctuate between time of publication and the races. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £XX for your total £7.50 stake.
