Lucky 15 Tips: Take rank of Conor’s four Saturday selections

There are four race meetings across the UK and Ireland to look forward to on Saturday, so I have a few options to choose from when it comes to forming my latest Lucky 15 Tips.

There is a big focus on Cheltenham this weekend and rightly so, and this meeting does feature in my latest column, which you will find below.

13:25 Wetherby - Saligo Bay @ 3/1

Kicking us off is this Class 3 handicap hurdle over 2m at Wetherby. Eight runners are declared for this one and there are a couple on the shortlist. The one who jumps out at me is SALIGO BAY for Sam England's yard.

The seven-year-old gelding's last two outings have come over C&D, with a victory (flat/hurdles) winning the latter. He has now won three of his last six starts so he is heading here in a good mood.

This contest will ask more of him but he is clearly on a good run at the minute and his current form puts him in a strong position on Saturday.

13:45 Cheltenham - Burdett Road @ 6/1

BURDETT ROAD, who finished runner-up in that crazy renewal of the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, looks a big price for the Arkle Trial.

He's arguably got the best form of all over hurdles and if he takes to chasing, he can outrun his odds and then some.

14:20 Cheltenham - Thecompanysergeant @ 11/1

I was keen on Jagwar in the Gold Cup Handicap Chase but sadly he is a non-runner. Naturally, THECOMPANYSERGEANT is a fitting replacement.

Gavin Cromwell's eight-year-old was second to my original fancy in the Plate at this year's Cheltenham Festival and would have been a pound better off if his rival had stood his ground.

He's also fit after a relatively busy summer campaign - and the heavy ground isn't a worry as he's got form, good form as well, in such conditions in the book.

14:27 Uttoxeter - Jasmine D'Airy @ 8/13

JASMINE D'AIRY got off the mark at Plumpton (2m41/2f) in the spring after moving over to Harry Derham's yard in October 2024. This front-runner has a lot of speed to work with which sets her up nicely for this 2m novices' hurdle at Uttoxeter.

The return back down to this trip shouldn't faze this six-year-old mare. The one to beat in this field despite a penalty.

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £679 for your total £7.50 stake.
