*odds correct at time of publication
12:50 Plumpton - Calvino @ 3/1
Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden can get on the Plumpton scoresheet with CALVINO in the Gredley Charitable Trust Novices' Hurdle that opens the card.
The Walk In The Park gelding bagged a bumper at Taunton on quick ground in April and returned from his summer recess with a good second on hurdles bow at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good to soft) last month, just edged out by Kapitein Kool late on.
That was a promising start and he should build on it, with the Ditcheat team currently operating at a strike-rate in excess of 24 per cent.
13:00 Navan - Black Bamboo @ 22/1
There’s some real quality from Navan on Monday's rescheduled card and one that could land a surprise is BLACK BAMBOO for the John Murphy team in the Hotel Park St. Johann In Tirol Austria Handicap Hurdle.
The Fame And Glory gelding was useful over hurdles in the 2023/24 season, running well in competitive handicaps at the major spring festivals at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown, over a variety of trips.
He went chasing last season but never quite took to it and his best effort duly came when back over hurdles at Killarney in May.
A mark of 125 is exploitable in this code and he has gone well fresh before so it might be worth chancing him now with Danny Gilligan a positive booking in the plate.
15:40 Leicester - Wind Your Neck In @ 5/1
Just shy of two-miles is the trip for the seven runners in this handicap hurdle at Leicester and WIND YOUR NECK IN is fancied to go well for the Sam England team with Tom Midgley claiming 3lb in the saddle.
The chestnut gelding is yet to win over hurdles, but he was quite smart on the Flat with David Evans and he showed promise in maiden hurdles at Southwell twice in the spring when finishing second.
He's been held up in his two runs since coming back from a summer break and could perhaps do with sitting closer to the pace.
He's eased 4lb in the ratings now and his Flat form suggests the testing conditions underfoot will be a help.
16:00 Exeter - Ri Na Cuirte @ 8/1
Three-and-a-quarter-miles at Warwick in September appeared to stretch the stamina of RI NA CUIRTE to breaking point.
Ben Clarke's gelding had previously recorded a trio of good efforts in defeat at Chepstow and Ffos Las over trips up to three-miles, and he moved well for a long way in first-time blinkers at Warwick before failing to get home.
He's effective on slower ground and should be good enough to land a small race from his current mark.
The yard have been amongst the winners recently and he can shine in this Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle under the guide of Toby McCain-Mitchell with the drop back in trip another positive.
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £4,200 for your total £7.50 stake.
