Lucky 15 Tips: JRP One set for Haldon repeat

There are five meetings across Britain and Ireland on Friday, the highlight being Exeter’s Haldon Gold Cup meeting.
First off is Hexham (11:55) before Exeter (12:40), Fontwell (12:50), Newcastle (14:18) and Dundalk (17:15). Below are my Lucky 15 selections for Friday's action.
Lucky 15 Tips - Friday, November 7
- 14:00 Fontwell - Flintara @ 11/4
- 14:10 Hexham - Robert d’Ores @ 3/1
- 14:25 Exeter - JPR One @ 3/1
- 15:35 Exeter - Theonewedreamof @ 7/2
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
14:00 Fontwell - Flintara @ 11/4
Richard Bandy’s FLINTARA is into the veteran stage of his career, but he was holding his form well earlier in the year and should give a good account on a track that suits.
The ten-year-old has won twice at the Sussex venue and, although on a losing run verging on two years, he’s back on his last winning mark of 99 and has obvious claims if replicating any of his last four efforts (he’s run to Racing Post Ratings of 100 or 99 on each occasion).
He’s been off for 180 days, but that’s of no concern for the gelding, who overcame an absence of eight months when winning at Uttoxeter earlier in his career.
14:10 Hexham - Robert d’Ores @ 3/1
George Bewley’s ROBERT D’ORES tends to save his best form for Hexham and another big run looks on the cards from eight-year-old.
The selection has gained all three of his wins under rules at this venue, all over this course-and-distance and looked better than ever when scoring off an official mark of 90 on his seasonal reappearance last month.
That was his first outing since May, so it should have brought him forward physically, so a 4lb rise shouldn’t be insurmountable.
14:25 Exeter - JPR One @ 3/1
Joe Tizzard has won three of the past four renewals of the feature Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup, including 12 months ago with JPR ONE, who looks to hold outstanding claims for a repeat.
The eight-year-old has won first-time-out on each of his last three campaigns, suggesting he goes particularly well when fresh, as was the case last year when he had just enough up his sleeve to fend off the late rally of Venetia Williams’ Djelo (won the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby last weekend).
He did manage to add to that victory in four subsequent outings, but he performed to a high level throughout, repeatedly running to Racing Post Ratings in the mid 150s to 160.
That’s the best form on offer and the 3lb he gets from Paul Nicholls’ favourite, Kalif Du Berlais, can tip the scales in his favour.
15:35 Exeter - Theonewedreamof @ 7/2
There was a lot to like about the run of Dan Skelton’s THEONEWEDREAMOF on her stable debut over 2m4f at Huntingdon last month and she makes plenty of appeal off the same mark, now upped in trip.
The six-year-old won five times in Ireland for Gavin Cromwell in Ireland, including twice over fences, most recently over 2m6f at Punchestown in February.
She’s untried beyond that distance, but she was strong at the finish on that occasion and shaped like a thorough stayer at Huntingdon last time when keeping on well for the rear for second.
That was a career-best effort in terms of Racing Post Ratings and, with fitness now on her side, she’s surely a big player off the same official mark of 112.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £326.06 for your total £7.50 stake.
