Two of Ascot's seven races on Friday (14:35 & 15:10) are being screened LIVE on ITV, so with plenty of love rightly being showered upon Newmarket and the start of the Betfred Guineas Festival, we'll spread our net accordingly and visit Berkshire for our Lucky 15 tips.

Group and Listed action awaits, and it all kicks in at 14:00. What a fabulous day for our sport. Enjoy!

14:35 - Tabletalk @ 9/2

2m test (the G3 Sagaro Stakes) and billed as a Gold Cup trial.

Super field, with the evergreen Sweet William likely to be very popular. My fancy is a five-year-old gelding by Derby winner Camelot, and trained by Tom Clover at HQ - Tabletalk.

Rossa Ryan has been engaged to ride, and he was on board when last we saw this fella at Riyadh in February, finishing a close-up second in a G2 with one of today's rivals Tarriance just a neck further back in third.

The selection was finishing well over the 1m 7f trip and gets an additional 220 yards here for the first time; and it might just suit. Sweet William is a tough cookie, classy, and consistent - but might, just might, improve for the run after 195 days off, though the Gosden string are in great order.

Tabletalk gets 5lb and that could be crucial - plus there's the brilliant Rossa, who knows his mount extremely well, and there's that extra yardage to consider.

15:10 - Wise Approach @ 11/8

William Buick is here rather than 'home' at Newmarket, and this could be the main reason.

Wise Approach is comfortably best-in on official marks for this G3, 6f sprint. He took the G1 Middle Park at HQ last backend and really should have too much up his sleeve for today's rivals.

This is billed as a Commonwealth Cup trial and we'll doubtless see this three-year-old Mehmas colt line up at the Royal meeting looking to add another G1 to his CV.

Old rival Brussels has plenty to commend him and Aidan's are starting to fire, but I'm content to row in with the boys in blue and Mr Appleby's charge.

15:45 - Holloway Boy @ 11/2

A Listed straight mile shootout now, for older horses with Queen Anne aspirations at the Royal meeting.

Wide-open betting as I write, and arguably therefore no standout entry that will have any of the others quaking in their horseshoes. I'm taking the plunge with another Will Buick-ridden conveyance, trained by the all-conquering Karl Burke - Holloway Boy.

The six-year-old Ulysses gelding has won and run well here before, and is both experienced and consistent. He's right up there in terms of form shown throughout his career, with every indication that he'll continue to be a force and indeed last appeared in a G2 at Meydan in February (beaten 2.75l), so today's Listed company won't hold any terrors for him.

Buick was on board that day and I'm encouraged that he retains the partnership. Red-hot line-up but chances for me, and at an attractive price.

16:20 - Another Abbot @ 8/1

I'm looking for value once again in another fiendishly-tricky affair; a 5f, Class 4 handicap sprint for older horses.

Our selection Another Abbot is a four-year-old Harry Angel gelding trained by William Haggas at Newmarket and ridden by Cieren Fallon, with Tom Marquand riding at HQ.

Two wins so far from 12 starts, and plenty of encouragement courtesy of lots of consistent displays that connections could have a great deal of fun with him this season.

Runs off 82 today, down from a career-high 84 the run before last, and seems happy enough either at the minimum or stretching out to 6f, which given this stiff five could be a big advantage as you really need to knuckle down in the closing stages to get home at Ascot.

Big field, and if considering a little tickle in isolation we're paying 1/5 odds FIVE places, each way; which is where I'll be headed.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £822 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
