Lucky 15 Tips: Mullins raider can get off the mark

Our expert has had a look at the racing action on Monday and picked out four selections who can be combined to form a Lucky 15. Amongst them is a Willie Mullins-trained Irish raider who makes his first start since coming over from France.

14:05 Carlisle – He’s On Fire @ 2/7

Willie Mullins has two winners from three runners at Carlisle and sends over French import HE’S ON FIRE for the third race on Monday. He ran three times in his native France and managed to finish second on his most recent start at Auteuil in November.

That was a significantly improved performance and he was very close to getting off the mark that day. Mullins the miracle worker will surely bring more out of him and it surely won’t be long before he gets his nose in front and this looks like a good opportunity to do so.

15:05 Carlisle – Parish Star @ 11/10

Adam Nicol’s PARISH STAR has really turned a corner since joining the yard for this season and appears to be on an upward trajectory. She finished third on stable debut last month and was entitled to need the run, as it was her first start for 377 days.

Getting off the mark by a narrow margin at Newcastle on her penultimate start, she showed a good attitude to get her head in front late on. Further progress was made at Southwell next time as she won with plenty in hand, and the hat-trick looks a real possibility.

15:35 Carlisle – Vampire Slayer @ 10/3

Parish Star isn’t the only runner on the card chasing a hat-trick and the Daragh Bourke-trained VAMPIRE SLAYER also looks well set to oblige.

It took a while for the penny to drop but everything clicked for the son of Camacho at Catterick last month. He got the better of Rukaana that day, landing the odds at 10/1.

Bourke’s gelding was an impressive winner at Sedgefield last time out and the handicapper has responded with a 9lb rise and although that will make life harder, he’s one to keep on side for the time being.

16:50 Fairyhouse – Run For Cover @ 9/2

Martin Brassil’s RUN FOR COVER was a comfortable winner over course and distance in December, successfully making all the running.

Eased down before the line, the improvement in form was put down to a change of tactics which made a huge difference.

It was a similar story at Naas last time out, despite the fact that she was running off a 10lb higher mark. Making all the running once again, she was far too good for the rest of the field and another big performance is anticipated this time around, despite another rise.
