Lucky 15 Tips: Terrific eight-race Wednesday at Kempton

Time for some all-weather action on Wednesday early evening, courtesy of Kempton's eight-race card that kicks in at 16:28.
Oisin Murphy and Rossa Ryan are here to name but two in terms of some our very best jocks, and racing looks sure to be competitive. Enjoy!
Lucky 15 tips - Wednesday, February 11
Kempton
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
17:40 - Star Obsession @ 6/4
Our first selection runs in a mile maiden, sporting the legendary Oppenheimer colours of Derby and Arc hero Golden Horn.
Star Obsession is a three-year-old daughter of Frankel no less, out of a Shamardal mare. Two runs so far, both this year - a debut at Wolverhampton over 7f, beaten 5.75l after getting outpaced; then here just a week ago in a novice, fading late after leading (7.5l adrift of the winner).
I think she can do much better if they can get the fractions right, and the race conditions dictate that she carries just 8st 6lb in what looks to be pretty ordinary company.
Trainer William Haggas has booked Hollie Doyle - I'm not sure if her other half Tom Marquand is in the country right now but William's stable jockey might struggle to do this light weight in any event, generally operating at a low of around 8st 8lb and above.
18:10 - Menzies @ 2/1
Jockey Kaiya Fraser is seemingly never far away from the winners' circle and he partners one for Newmarket handler Harry Eustace in another division for one-mile maidens.
The cleverly-named three-year-old Australia colt Menzies has run just once, here over 7f three weeks ago, and he finished a very promising fifth beaten just 3.5l under today's pilot.
The second in that contest has since been turned over at 5s-on but the selection rallied nicely on the day, was doing his best work at the finish, and will surely come on a ton for the run.
Also, having acted well on the Polytrack is a big plus. The trainer's last runner obliged under Kaiya at Newcastle a week go, and the jockey himself is operating at a 31% strike-rate over the past fortnight.
18:40 - Summer Heat @ 5/1
Murphy and Andrew Balding combine here with a likely hotpot in All Moonshine, and it would be no shock if she prevailed in the familiar Rousing silks. It's the jockey's only booked mount, too - what am I doing?
However; I'm going for a bit of value, and another filly in this mile handicap for members of the fairer sex - Summer Heat.
HQ's James Owen trains, and Arc-winning jock Luke Morris has the riding assignment. The four-year-old has yet to win in seven starts but after joining James from Saeed Bin Suroor in January ran nicely here a fortnight ago over 7f, making late gains to be beaten only 1.75l.
The extra furlong looks key, and she races off the same mark, 73. James is a master at galvanising his recruits and she gets a handy 7lb from the likely Kingsclere-trained favourite too.
19:10 - El Bodon @ 9/2
Rossa Ryan would be close to the top of any 'favourite jockey' list I might compile of those in action right now, as if anyone would be the slightest bit interested, and one of his three rides on this card comes in the £13k+ Class 2 sprint over 6f.
El Bodon is a five-year-old gelded son of dual Guineas winner Churchill, and runs in the fabled Harris family silks. The horse is two-from-13, and is relatively lightly-raced with a couple of decent-sized breaks having been taken.
Over this course-and-distance 56 days ago he won one of these with authority, under Rossa, and looks to hit the jackpot again with a 6lb penalty to contend with. The performance however had the hallmarks, form-wise, of a G3 effort at Newbury (second in the Greenham) back in April 2024, and he's obviously in great heart.
Jane Chapple-Hyam trains in Suffolk, and being drawn in the two box will help given his prominent run-style.
An absolute cracker of a heat for our last leg of the bet.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £318 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
