Lucky 15 Tips: Warwick’s the venue for Kings on Saturday

Three contests from Warwick's eight-race card on Saturday will be televised LIVE by ITV, including a Listed mares' hurdle and a G2 novice chase. Warwick is often seen as a good prep track for those with Cheltenham aspirations, given its layout, and some of Saturday's runners will be hoping to make it to the Festival in March for sure.
Ideal vehicle then for our Lucky 15 tips, and the only slight caveat is that we need to keep our fingers crossed weather-wise. Biblical amounts of rain has seen the ground soft or heavy pretty much everywhere of late and several meetings recently have fallen by the wayside as a consequence.

13:15 - La Pinsonniere @ 4/1
Listed 2m 5f hurdle, for mares.
There's a likely Paul Nicholls-trained hotpot in Jubilee Alpha, but I prefer what I hope is a value alternative in the shape of Nicky Henderson's La Pinsonniere.
The six-year-old French-bred has one win to her name from 10 starts, but she's the epitome of consistency and is threatening to break into better company given the emphatic career-best logged last time; ironically in a 1.75l defeat to the aforementioned Jubilee Alpha.
It has to be said that this opportunity for revenge comes 296 days later for our selection, while 'Jubilee' has run three times since. Nicky I'm sure will have her in good order for this test but the absence can't be ignored - just hope it won't be a factor.
Given the nature of the race conditions our selection today is 3lb worse off - but that year-younger profile, and progressive nature, could just see her improve beyond her conqueror today.
Cracking start to our little bet.
13:50 - Steel Ally @ 11/10
Sam Thomas trains, for loyal patron Walters Plant Hire, as would-be Arkle novice chase aspirants tackle the G2 Kingmaker.
Steel Ally is an eight-year-old Doctor Dino gelding, four-from-15 lifetime, and who is on a hat-trick after emphatic scores at Carlisle (November) and 50 days ago when last seen at Ascot. Another big career-best was achieved in Berkshire and on official ratings he's best-in for this small field, utterly fascinating clash.
He seems versatile regarding ground and track type, and though he operates at this minimum trip he stays particularly well, having scored at places like Carlisle and Haydock, where on soft or worse you really do have to get home strongly.
Another outstanding-looking clash.
14:25 - Grandeur d'Ame @ 4/1
A 2m 4f veterans' chase, with a competitive look about it.
Our selection Grandeur d'Ame is a ten-year-old French-bred trained by Alan King in Wiltshire; the winner of six of his 26 starts under rules, four of which have been over the larger obstacles.
He can't be said to be absolutely flying along of late in general terms, but he's back to his last winning mark (132), and 'Kingy' is in very decent form right now, operating at around 20% in terms of strike-rate over the past fortnight.
Jockey Tom Bellamy knows the horse well, and his last run at Cheltenham 37 days ago in a hot £57k to the winner chase was definitely respectable, staying-on to be third beaten 12l at around this trip.
These are calmer waters and he might just be good enough.
15:00 - White Noise @ 9/2
My nap on the card for what it's worth, and another selection that will be partnered by Tom Bellamy.
This is a G2 novice hurdle worth more than £40k for the combination that passes the post first, and I'm going for White Noise and Tom to do just that.
The selection is a six-year-old mare by St Leger winner Kingston Hill, trained by Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls in Cheltenham. Four runs under rules; and unbeaten in her last three, a novice then two handicaps.
The latest success 40 days ago at Newbury was her best, off 119, and she's been raised to 128 as a consequence. That puts her decently-in with everything in this G2 bar Good Girl Kathleen, an Emmitt Mullis raider from County Carlow, and I'm certainly hoping she's got plenty of scope for further improvement.
Big chance in my book.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £360 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
