14:12 Bangor – Bowenspark @ 13/2
Henry Daly’s BOWENSPARK showed potential as a novice hurdler a couple of seasons ago and also finished fourth in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree before that.
He was an easy winner on his first start over hurdles at Stratford in November 2023 and ran in a couple of Grade 2s after that.
This time last year he ran in a warm Class 2 handicap at Aintree, producing a solid performance to finish third. Daly’s seven-year-old hasn’t quite reached that level since but there were signs of a return to form when he finished second by a length at Warwick.
The son of Walk In The Park has a decent first time out record so the fact that this is his seasonal debut isn’t a concern and a big run could well be on the cards here. The switch to fences is set to facilitate some improvement.
15:10 Redcar – Military Cross @ 8/15
John & Thady Gosden are always a dangerous duo but they’ve only had one previous runner at Redcar this season and the horse in question won. MILITARY CROSS has to go under serious consideration and he has finished second in all three starts to date.
Narrowly denied by his William Buick-ridden stablemate at Kempton on debut, he ran on really nicely once the penny dropped and it was a promising display. He was unfortunate to bump into an impressive winner at Ascot next time.
This son of Nathaniel is potentially running out of chances, as there was no excuse for his narrow defeat at Kempton earlier this month.
However, it has to be said that this is a pretty ordinary race and Robert Havlin’s mount should have no trouble dispatching his rivals.
15:45 Redcar – Noche Clasica @ 7/2
Ed Bethell’s NOCHE CLASICA has improved with every run so far and she got off the mark in a maiden at Chester on her final start for previous connections. Making her handicap debut at Goodwood in August, she put in a dominant display to win with loads in hand.
Connections then decided to try going up in grade and she was far from disgraced when finishing third in an Ascot Class 2 last time out. It’s unlikely that the handicapper has her in their grasp just yet and she can return to winning ways here.
15:55 Bangor – Douglas Hyde @ 3/1
Rebecca Curtis’ DOUGLAS HYDE cost £85,000 at the sales, after winning an Irish point at Lisronagh in good style back in March 2024. The third has since boosted the form by winning a couple of times over hurdles for Gordon Elliott, which certainly bodes well.
He made his debut under rules in a bumper here in October last year and ran a really nice race to finish second by less than two lengths. Clearly this horse has an engine and he went on to finish second in his next couple of bumper starts too.
Perhaps he’s just lacking the turn of foot required to get his head in front in that sphere but having won an Irish point, he should improve significantly now going hurdling. Sean Bowen has been booked for the ride and he should be bang in the mix.

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £295 for your total £7.50 stake.
