Lucky 15 Tips: We’re off to Cork for a terrific-looking card

No UK Racing on Wednesday but there's an ultra-competitive seven-race card from Cork, over in Southern Ireland. Natives include the likes of Roy Keane, Cillian Murphy, and the region is known widely as 'the rebel county' (fancy that).

The action kicks in at 16:10 and all the top Irish boys are present - Billy Lee, Colin Keane, Dylan Browne McMonagle, Shane Foley, et al. Should be an absolute cracker, and a great vehicle for our Lucky 15 tips.

16:40 - Strike Zone @ 5/6

Colin Keane for Ger Lyons - one of Ireland's powerhouse combos. Juddmonte's new retained rider is a multiple Irish champion and Lyons a leading trainer, and they team up here with Strike Zone, a two-year-old Mehmas colt out of a Gleneagles mare.

One highly promising run so far, at Navan 13 days ago, running on well to be beaten just 2.75l. Steps up a furlong to 6f today and it looks sure to suit. Tremendous chance.

17:40 - Black Caviar Gold @ 6/1

The mighty Billy Lee rides this two-year-old Havana Grey filly for trainer Paddy Twomey - another terrific pair extremely well versed in winning horseraces.

Black Caviar Gold looks to offer a bit of value to me too, as two solid runs have demonstrated clear ability and she's got some fancy entries in the autumn if she catches fire.

Big yards oppose - the usual suspects - hence the value I guess but if Donnacha, Aidan, Dermot and Jessie don't oblige, Paddy will need no second invitation.

18:40 - Hellorhighwater @ 2/1

Gary Carroll has the riding assignment on board Hellorhighwater, a three-year-old Sergei Prokofiev gelding with two narrow defeats under his belt in June and July - his only racecourse appearances to date.

Once again he tackles a mile, and on his last run 56 days ago (beaten just 0.75l) can take heart from the fact that the winner went on to go close in a warm £13k Galway handicap.

Trainer Gavin Cromwell excels under both codes and the horse's turn looks to be close at hand.

19:10 - Loingseoir @ 11/1

I've followed this one over the proverbial cliff over the past couple of months. Loingseoir tends to travel beautifully in his races and from a mile back, in danger of dropping out of the TV, stages heroic charges that just don't quite work out at the business end.

Michael Grassick's Henrythenavigator gelding is nine years young now, but obviously retains bags of ability. He's going to put it all together one of these days and I'm just praying I'm 'on' if/when it happens!

A 10lb claimer, Jimmy Dalton, is doing the steering - a big ask on such a quirky ride - but hey, it's worth a dash I guess. This one isn't for the faint of heart but it's almost certain to be exciting.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
