Lucky 15 Tips: Hat-trick seeker looks to score for the locals

A new week, dear reader - and our Tuesday Lucky 15 tips can be nicely catered for courtesy of a smashing little afternoon card at Brighton.

15:10 - Storm Flag @ 11/4

Maiden two-year-old fillies go 6f, and our selection represents the powerful Kingsclere yard of Andrew Balding.

Storm Flag has appeared twice on the racecourse - a pleasing Newmarket debut beaten 4.5l in a race of this nature at 5f, and then at the same trip an always-in-rear display at Ascot 18 days ago.

She has an early closing Wetherbys Super Sprint entry for Newbury in July and the hope is that Ascot, where she ducked right at the start, was something of a blip.

On that debut HQ form she'd surely be favourite for this, and I'm expecting a bold show from this daughter of the mighty Starspangledbanner.

15:40 - Imperial Cult @ 5/1

Rachel Cook & John Bridger train this six-year-old Sea The Moon gelding, and talented apprentice Joe Leavy has the riding assignment.

Imperial Cult takes a drop into Class 6 company and that might just work the oracle. Last winning mark was 61 and he's just 63 this afternoon, with a decent effort at Kempton last time under his belt.

That was over 12f and he faded late - down to 10f today he can be much more competitive, and having useful Epsom form can translate very nicely to this similarly quirky test at the seaside.

16:10 - Oj Lifestyle @ 6/4

Gary & Josh Moore are always to be respected here, training only around 20 miles away, and with Frankel's jockey on board their five-year-old Gleneagles gelding can complete a hat-trick here that commenced on August 8 last year.

Off the track for 268 days is my only concern, but Oj Lifestyle showed himself to be in grand order last autumn and has been competitive off considerably higher marks that today's 76 in the past.

Tom Queally is the fabled pilot doing the steering.

17:15 - Rebel Star @ 10/3

Sprinters go 5.5f in this tight-looking handicap, and I'm hoping Newmarket raider Rebel Star can do the business for trainer Robert Cowell and ever-present jockey George Downing.

Just one win in ten spins for this four-year-old filly so far, but she's tremendously consistent and looks to bounce back from an ordinary effort by her standards at Nottingham 18 days ago.

Cowell has few peers when it comes to handling the sport's speed merchants, and though this is admittedly modest-grade stuff the filly can make her presence felt on the coast in the lucky last.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
