Lucky 15 Tips: Smashing Chelmsford card under the lights

Welcome to Thursday's Lucky 15 tips. The weekend beckons; and from there it's a mere matter of days until Christmas! Lots of time to reflect upon the year about to end; and if sport is your thing, as for so many of us, a super-rich tapestry to affectionately recall. Action on Thursday will come from Chelmsford's eight-race card on the Polytrack, kicking in at 17:00.
One emphatic winner yesterday at 3/1, but we just couldn't better that on the day.
Lucky 15 Tips - Thursday, December 18

- 18:00 - Blindfold Games @ 6/4

*Odds correct as of the time of publication
17:00 - Windbreaker @ 9/4
One of Ireland's top jockeys Shane Foley comes to Essex for one ride - William Haggas' two-year-old Sea The Stars colt Windbreaker. He's out of a Group-winning Kodiac mare and has made just the one racecourse appearance so far - a very green, in-rear display at Kempton 17 days ago over today's trip of a mile.
Should be leaving all that behind him tonight and for added optimism the yard are operating at a 20% strike-rate, coincidentally the same as Shane, who invariably plies his trade predominantly for the brilliant Jessie Harrington.
Terrific race full of promising types and likely big improvers.
17:30 - Flash Rascal @ 11/4
More two-year-olds, but a nursery handicap over 7f rather than a novice stakes contest this time.
The selection Flash Rascal is a Havana Grey gelding, one win from seven, and who ran a blinder at Kempton last time at the beginning of the month beaten a length by a George Boughey inmate who was landing a hat-trick.
Prior to that he won here cosily, off a mark of 65, and off 70 today connections have resisted the temptation to go for a claimer to offset the rise. Very fine professional Harry Davies in fact gets the leg up, for the first time, for training partnership Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole.
Huge chance, in-form, useful track knowledge.
18:00 - Blindfold Games @ 6/4
The aforementioned Mr Boughey teams up here with 24-carat prodigy Billy Loughnane - he of over 200 winners this calendar year and counting.
Blindfold Games contests a 5f nursery at the bargain basement end of things, and after four modest but respectable efforts in the context of this looks to have a good chance of opening her account.
The two-year-old Mehmas filly ran just three days ago at Lingfield, beaten less than a length, running on. That was over 6f and this is back to 5f, a slight concern, but for me this is a tougher ask in the stamina stakes up the run-in to home.
Her sire broke his maiden at Chester over the minimum; and you could hardly get a track with a greater emphasis on raw speed. Billy to make all from the four box ...
18:30 - Raveena @ 13/8
A field of three-year-old novices go 5f again in this Class 4 heat.
We're with Jack Channon's Raveena, four broadly progressive spins so far and mightily close to success last time 24 days ago at Newcastle when beaten a length by a rival now rated 78.
Kieran Shoemark has the riding assignment, as he did last time, and he looks like a winner waiting to happen. West Ilsley-based Channon is very effective at maximising opportunities and this looks like a cracker to me.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £127 for a £7.50 total stake.
