Lucky 15 Tips: My Fermoy has lots more to offer in Lingfield’s feature

We have four meetings to look forward to across Britain and Ireland on Monday, which gives us plenty to sink our teeth into. Ireland’s action is provided by an eight-race card at Naas, while Lingfield, Plumpton and Wolverhampton host the equine entertainment in Britain.
There’s a good mix of National Hunt and all-weather racing on offer and many opportunities to find a winner or two. We’ve got four fancies on Monday who combined to form a cracking Lucky 15 and they include a thoroughly unexposed sort in Lingfield’s feature race.

13:00 Plumpton – All Authorized @ 7/4
Gary & Josh Moore are in excellent form at the moment and a strike-rate of 32 percent in the last fortnight isn’t to be sniffed at. The pair already have 33 winners on the board this season and ALL AUTHORIZED should be capable of adding to their tally.
This son of Authorized remains fairly lightly raced, especially over fences, and it’s easy to forgive his seasonal reappearance at Ascot last month. A bad mistake at the 14th fence certainly didn’t help and he ran out of gas shortly afterwards.
Already a winner at Plumpton, he won a Class 3 event over hurdles with plenty in hand back in April. That very comfortable five-and-a-half-length success came off a mark of 104 and the six-year-old’s chase mark is 4lb lower. He’s entitled to go close on that evidence.
It’s likely that he will improve for his seasonal reappearance and a return to winning ways should be on the cards sooner rather than later.
15:00 Plumpton – Kool Kid @ 5/2
Joe Tizzard is having a rock-solid campaign so far and he runs KOOL KID here. The five-year-old has only had three starts over hurdles so far and is set to make his handicap debut. We could see a significant amount of improvement in this sphere.
He came within a neck of winning an Irish point on two occasions and made no mistake on his first start under rules at Hereford in February. Race To Base finished second to Kool Kid that day and he won a bumper next time and has also won over hurdles since.
There have been small signs of improvement with every run over hurdles so far and low grade handicaps could be the making of him. An opening mark of 105 looks more than reasonable and a big run is anticipated.
15:12 Lingfield – My Fermoy @ 3/1
Denis Coakley’s MY FERMOY is thoroughly unexposed and could be well treated on handicap debut. The three-year-old has been fairly consistent so far and it was a strong display when getting off the mark impressively at Southwell last month.
He hung left in the closing stages but that made little difference and he pulled clear to score by a margin of four-and-a-half lengths.
It would be hard not to be impressed by that performance and a mark of 80 could prove to be fairly generous.
15:30 Plumpton – Skittish @ 4/1
Hughie Morrison doesn’t have too many horses over jumps but is often one to watch in bumpers. The trainer knows the SKITTISH family well and four of her half-siblings managed to win a bumper and she looks well set to follow suit here.
She produced an average display on debut at Huntingdon last season but took a big step forward when finishing second by a narrow margin at Sedgefield in October.
A similar effort may well be enough but you can’t rule out further progress either.
