Lucky 15 Tips: Kingscote to rule in Essex on Thursday evening

Racing at Chelmsford is invariably exciting and ultra-competitive. Thursday sees a seven-race card which gets underway at 18:00, and provides a perfect setting in relation to our Lucky 15 tips for the day.
Red-hot Oisin Murphy is among the jocks on view, and it should be a cracking evening's sport.
Lucky 15 Tips - Thursday, June 12
Chelmsford
18:00 - Monk's Hill @ 5/1
Two-year-olds go 7f in our opener.
My selection Monk's Hill is a daughter of the mighty Irish sprinter Dandy Man out of a Kodiac mare, trained by Ivan Furtado and ridden by Tom Eaves.
Just the one run, at Redcar 16 days ago, and a satisfactory mid-div introduction at a big price. She'll be sharper and wiser now and the trip down from south Yorkshire could be a profitable one, getting a handy weight pull from likely fav Champion Island (7lb).
18:30 - Somebody @ 11/10
Oisin Murphy time - operating at a scintillating 27% strike-rate over the last 14 days.
Somebody is a more experienced two-year-old (four runs so far), and is trained at Newmarket by Richard Spencer. Second in a £15k novice at HQ is good form to bring to the table and the Irish-bred colt can continue his consistent little run with a deserved first victory under the brilliant former champ.
20:30 - Beaming Light @ 10/11
Trainer Dave Loughnane is in very decent fettle (18% strike-rate) and he saddles a fairly lightly-raced five-year-old maiden here in the shape of Beaming Light.
Jockey Richard Kingscote has the riding assignment and 16 days ago after a break of some 192 days he was a very good second beaten less than a length, at Wolves.
The Racing Post described him, intriguingly, as an 'eye-catcher,' and he went into my notebook too. He's only been raised a pound and Dave acquired the horse just days before that last run so he'll know more now about plotting that career-first success, and Beaming Light will have a better 'feel' for his new surroundings.
My nap of the evening.
21:00 - Queen Of The Roses @ 8/1
I'm drinking from the Kingscote well once again, this time aboard a Mick Appleby-trained Ribchester filly, returning from an absence of 201 days.
The Jaber Abdullah-owned three-year-old Queen Of The Roses debuted insignificantly at Wolves last backend, then narrowly took a Newcastle maiden in late November about six weeks later.
Ability, then - undoubtedly. The trainer (21%) is a master, the jockey is of Epsom Derby-winning pedigree, and her mark of 67 doesn't look prohibitive.
Huge chance in my book.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £315 for your total £7.50 stake.
