Beverley racecourse

It’s Flat action all the way in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with four meetings to get stuck into. The premier action at Goodwood, where the Group 2 Celebration Mile (15:35) is the feature, is supplemented by fixtures at Yarmouth and Beverley in Britain, while the racing in Ireland comes from Naas.

Below are my Lucky 15 selections for Sunday’s fare.

Fast Racing Results

13:50 Goodwood – Treble Tee @ 6/1

TREBLE TEE, a half-brother to four French winners, most notably 1m1f Group 3 winner at two Suphala, was well backed on his debut and showed he was a useful prospect when winning comfortably, displaying a fair bit of pace.

The form of that contest has been emphatically franked since, with the second and third now rated 95 and 92 after winning three times each since, while the fifth bolted up in a handicap off an opening mark of 98.

Treble Tee ran well in warm conditions at Newmarket before a below-par run behind a smart one in a similar contest last time, but something may have been amiss that day as he was given wind surgery and was gelded soon after.

He went down narrowly on his handicap debut last time after a 92-day break, pushing a progressive rival all the way despite racing keenly throughout, and a 2lb rise to a mark of 95 looks manageable. He should be capable of going one better with that run behind him.

14:05 Beverley – Time Tells All @ 11/4

TIME TELLS ALL has had relatively few tries at this trip and proved well suited to this stiff course and distance when scoring by three lengths last month (the third and fifth have won since to give the form substance).

He found himself too far back in a race in which the first two home were in those positions throughout at Pontefract last month, but he finished off strongly to go down by little more than a length, despite pulling hard during the contest.

He built on that with a comfortable success back at Beverley last time, travelling up strongly and finding plenty under pressure to justify strong market support. A 4lb rise looks manageable.

Time Tells All is older than a few of these and has had more runs, but he couldn’t be in better form for a team who will be on a high following their success in the Group 2 Gimcrack with Lifeplan on Friday.

15:20 Yarmouth – Diomed Duke @ 9/2

DIOMED DUKE has shown improved form since returning from a break and wearing a tongue-tie this season, shaping well over course and distance on his reappearance before a clear-cut win at Lingfield in June, when he never saw another rival and was eased late on.

He was hit with a 10lb hike for that success but ran well for a long way in a competitive York handicap last time, just fading late on over an extra half-furlong behind a winner who went close in a Class 2 next time.

He’s been dropped 1lb for that and useful 5lb claimer Jack Nicholls takes over in the saddle to ease his burden further, which can only help matters. He’s still lightly raced and is open to more improvement over this bare five furlongs.

16:45 Goodwood – Ocean Of Dreams @ 5/2

OCEAN OF DREAMS had three starts for Aidan O'Brien, winning impressively on heavy ground on debut before showing he handled a better surface when fourth in the Gowran Classic in June last year.

That was a fine effort considering he was conceding 5lb to the 90-rated winner and 9lb to the 95-rated second.

He's run to a good level on a couple of occasions this year since joining Archie Watson, finishing second behind a subsequent winner in a Class 3 handicap at Ascot in May and also finishing fourth in the Queen Mother’s Cup at York in June.

It’s best to ignore his latest effort, given it was his all-weather debut, and, if the first-time blinkers have the desired effect, he’ll be hard to beat now dropping into a seller, given he is well clear of his rivals on adjusted Racing Post ratings.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.25p each-way Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £200.06 for your total £7.50 stake.
